Lucky was rescued from a shelter in TN. His full name is “Happy-Go-Lucky”, which perfectly describes his sunny personality. He’s about 2 yrs old, and still has a lot of puppy in him. He’s active, but not hyper, and very athletic, which would make him suitable for a hiking companion, running companion, or an agility dog. Lucky loves to retrieve a tennis ball, play with soft toys, tossing and catching them, then racing around with the toy in his mouth, and he’ll search diligently for a toy he likes. He does his
own special “happy dance” wriggling and twisting with delight when greeting me. He’s a bit of a clown.
Lucky has a pretty rough and tumble play style, so a household with another dog his size or larger would be the best fit for him. He would also be fine as an only dog, as he is very social with people. Lucky gets along very well with female dogs of all temperaments, but sometimes has trouble with other males. He is good with males that are not pushy (he and Blue get along very
well together). Lucky is partially housetrained, crate trained, knows “sit” and is pretty good about coming when he’s called inside the fenced yard.
Lucky needs an active owner who will continue his training. He’s a very sweet boy and loves people. He will need a home without cats, as he has a lot of prey drive and would probably harm a cat if he could get to it. He’s not been around a lot of kids, but is very interested in pets from them when we go to Petsmart to socialize, so he would probably be fine in a household with kids over 7.
