Hi! My name is Abbie, I am seven years young, and cannot wait to find my fur-ever home! I think in a previous life I was taught to go get these feathery puffballs for my owner, but my foster mom isn’t quite sure about that, she just knows I love to chase any furry creature around the yard!

In my current life, Mom says, I am just a happy-go-lucky GSP! She says I’m a jumping bean when we get ready to go out any doors – I just LOOOOVE being outside I can’t contain my excitement (we are working on calming down)!!! While long walks and playing in the yard are some of my favorite things, don’t be fooled a cuddle on the couch is alright with me!

I do really hate to be alone and I get very anxious when you are leaving, or during storms, so having a fur-ever home with parents that work from home or maybe an active-retired couple would be ideal for me.

I do like my kennel to rest in but mom thinks as long as someone keeps an eye out that I would do fine out in the house, I typically want to be right next to my person any ways (velcro pup).

My previous owner had a “small hooman” (child), so I think I’d do okay around those.

I previously was an escape artist and would jump the fence on a regular basis to go and wander the neighborhood, but foster-mom says with a high fence or attention and exercise I should be fine. I do like to snuggle with my foster sister, Bristol, but other than running a little in the yard I don’t wrestle or play much with her, I’m more interested in adventures around the yard.

I get very anxious on car rides, but you can teach me to love them with a little consistency and training, I’m super smart 😉 and would love to learn (but for a long trip I may need some calming aids). I have had a few previous owners so I would really like to settle in with a family that really wants me fur-ever.

Some of my favorite things are hard-boiled eggs, chicken strips, peanut butter and apple slices – yummy!

If you are interested in adopting me, please complete a SEGSP Rescue adoption application (if you haven’t already) and email my foster Mom  Asher.

The Southeast GSP Rescue adoption fee is $375 for adult dogs, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, spaying/neutering, microchip, heartworm testing and testing for internal parasites.
