Our liver foster, Gordo, now called Bennie, has chosen his forever home with the Andrews family. And he now has a GSP brother, Booner, and loads of land to explore and play. His new dad says he has settled in so well and has been loving sniffing and playing and exploring his new home. And he even had his first kayak excursion this past week and did great!
We are so grateful for the Andrews family for adopting him, annd also to his foster dad, Chris, for loving him and preparing him for success at his forever home. Sallie didn’t have far to go when she selected her forever home, because she has decided she is staying put with her foster family and isn’t not going anywhere. Her dad Will said, “Sallie joined the family while her dad and siblings were up north chasing grouse. As soon as they returned, it was readily apparent that her foster mom, Ashley, didn't want to find any forever home except to convert the foster into forever. Sallie immediately bonded with her 5 GSP siblings and loves playing with her older brothers. She's especially fond of her playmate, Lucky. Sallie made it too hard to say no and too easy to say yes with her loving nature, friendly heart, and adventurous spirit. She fits right in and is a welcome addition at our hearth.”
Sallie, congratulations!!! And thank you so much to Will and Ashley for fostering her and realizing how well she fit in with your family. Rye (TN, in red collar) has selected her forever home with the Suarez family. And her foster mom, Mariah, couldn’t be happier with her choice.
From Mariah, “I am overjoyed with Rye starting her new life today! From the moment I met Rye’s prospective adopters, I instantly knew, this is her forever family. When I began the process of finding this little girl a home, I couldn’t help but worry. I asked myself questions like: Would I find a family that would take care of her like I do? Would they understand her personality and her habits? Would they love her unconditionally and spoil her forever? Thankfully, my helicopter dog mom brain (yep, I’m one of those), didn’t have to worry long. I knew in my heart, after our first video chat, that Maria, Sarah, and their GSP, Miranda, would be Rye’s family. The entire fostering process has been an incredible experience. Through the ups and downs, some sleepless nights, a few shredded toys (RIP Mr. Octopus), and lots of snuggles made it all worth it. At the beginning of fostering, I thought I was helping this little girl find a new and better life. But at the end, Rye also gave that to me. She taught me patience, gentleness, and compassion. Most of all, she showed me how the simple gesture of love and safety can change the trajectory for an animal forever. I’m so grateful to have been a small blip on Rye’s new life. Thank you SEGSP for allowing me to have this opportunity and for being such an amazing organization and thank you to Maria, Sarah and Miranda for giving Rye her new life. ” Mariah, you summed this up beautifully! We are so grateful for fosters like you and love how you shared your experience. And we are truly grateful to the Suarez family for loving Rye (and for making her a new Tampa fan)! Congrats to all! Barrett is now officially named Ben and is… HOME! We can’t thank his foster family, Avril and Ben, enough for helping Barrett adjust to his journey in rescue and finding the ideal home for this handsome boy. Avril said Ben was so excited he wouldn’t take the time to pose for a photo
Congratulations Ben, Jacob and Madalyn! We look forward to receiving updates and photos as Ben starts his forever journey. Bama has decided he's a Tennessee fan after all, as in, he's staying put with his foster dad who lives in TN and making it his forever home!
His new dad, Charlie, said of Bama, "He has the temperament of a grandfather on a park bench reading the newspaper. He has a pensive look to him and a silent demeanor, patiently awaiting to be met and talked to. The only sounds he makes are tiny little snores when he is asleep. Adorable! He likes to post up next to me when I work, oftentimes keeping my feet warm while also filling his need for physical connection. He's a great cuddler, too!" What a wonderful match! Bama is in great hands, and we can't wait for him to continue his forever story with Charlie. Thanks so much for fostering him, Charlie. We are grateful to you! Oh, and we heard he loves dog parks. You can see the smile on his face in this pic! :-) It’s official – Gunner, now Charlie, has found his home! A HUGE thank you to his foster mom Carmen and her family for fostering Gunner and finding the perfect home for his needs.
His new mom Margot said, “Charlie has been through so much but, healing well from his troubled past. Carmen did a FANTASTIC job with him. And now he is with us and his new sister, (8yr old dobie) Nikita, who instantly loved him. Charlie is living the "life of Riley". Huge, fully equipped comfy kennel with open door. Top line chow, cooked ground turkey with broth, Woof peanut butter treats and lots of love and patience. His kennel is in our bedroom and Nikita goes in and lies on the floor hoping he will play. Thank you for allowing us to adopt Charlie. Margot, Don and Nikita” Congrats to Charlie, Margot, Don and Nikita! Stetson has found his home! Stetson, now named Winston (aka Winnie) was surrendered to an AL shelter and his foster mom Abby said he was frightened when he arrived and seemed not to have experienced much love in his past. Despite that, he is sweet and now he’s going to a forever home that will appreciate all he has to give and will no doubt receive LOTS of love in return.
His new mom Danielle said, “Thank you all very much! This little guy is going to do great with his big brother Huckleberry! Abby, thank you for taking such great care of him and driving him and Lynn, thank you for finalizing his transportation! We will keep you updated! He’s settling in with his giant Lamby and treats we got him for the trip home!!” A BIG thank you to his foster mom Abby for all she’s done for Stetson including a very long transport. And thank you to Lynn (bottom photos) for helping bring Stetson “into” rescue (bottom left photo) and helping transport Stetson to go home on Monday (bottom right). And of course, CONGRATS to Stetson, Danielle, Melanie, Huckleberry (and Lamby)! Molly is adopted! And her foster mom Vicki is overjoyed.
She said, “Oh Molly, Molly, Molly! You my girl should be in the dictionary right next to the word Velcro because you are the absolute definition of a Velcro dog. You crave all the human attention, and you deserve that attention so it was my job to find you the perfect home where you would get exactly what you needed. Thanks to an amazing group I belong to I met your dad, and he started following your journey and reached out to me about you. They kept up with all your post and all your stories and the minute you went up for adoption they pounced on the opportunity to be your furever family. Not only are they very qualified to deal with any behavioral issues you might have as you settle in, but they are no strangers to the rescue world as they have SEGSP Alum Colt who has now become your Cool New Brother (with his Rex Specs on). You are one lucky girl Molly as your new family already loved you more than anything and the fact that you immediately approached them with zero anxiety for hugs and love tells me it was love at first sight for you as well. I was so amazed that you completely forgot your fear of men as you nuzzled your new dad welcoming his love and even kissed him at the first greeting. This shows me that they are absolutely the perfect home for you and as all of you drove away, a calm washed over me that I’ve never felt before. No tears were shed, I wasn’t heartbroken, and I wasn’t even sad because every inch of my soul felt the love that formed the moment all of you met. I also want to thank you Molly, because of you I also now have two new people I get to call my friends because I also fell in love with your new family and can’t wait to now follow your new journey. Congratulations Geoff, Luanna and Colt on your new family member and thank you from the bottom of my heart for loving this breed as much as I do and for doing everything you have to make this transition so perfect for Molly. You sent her clothes that smelled like you prior to your meeting which I think was an absolute game changer, you brought her snacks, made sure you had time to spend with her before the long journey home and you showed all the calmness and understanding she deserved during your meet and greet. Best wishes to all four of you and I look forward to watching you all grow as a family. This is definitely not goodbye as you are now stuck with me for life, I will be here for anything you need. Your loving foster mom, Vicki” #MollyIsHome #GSPforever #GSPlove What a great way to start a new month…a happy adoption! Congratulations to Dixie who found her forever home with Susan and Larry. They are super excited to introduce her to the entire neighborhood who have been patiently waiting for the new member of the community.
A big thank you to the Penabella family for fostering Dixie, who they’ve had for 6 months! They have given Dixie a wonderful gift! “Hey all! It’s Goose! (Used to be Braxton, but my Paw-rents are big fans of the Top-Gun Movie!). That’s right, I’m ADOPTED! I’ve been having a blast in my fur-ever home! My sister, Luka, has been showing me how to do all the tricks for some yummy treats! I’ve been adjusting to my new home very well and have been loving life!”
Congrats Goose! And thank you to Marielle and Kanupp Kennels for working with Braxton during his time in rescue, as well as the volunteers who took Braxton to vet visits and made sure he had what he needed. Our volunteers ROCK! |
