 Waylon had so many awesome applications from great families that wanted to adopt him. Thanks to his wonderful foster mom, Mary, he found just the right forever home. And he’s super excited to now have a GSP sister to cuddle and play with as well!
Another happy success story – congratulations to Waylon, Chris and La Tonya!  Svetlana, now Maisy, is HAPPY! And, you guessed it, has decided to stay with her foster family FOREVER!
Maisy came to SEGSP after being found as a stray and her owners never came for her. In her last post, her mom Jessica described her as the perfect mix of chaos and love… i.e., a typical GSP. Congratulations to Maisy and her new family! #MaisyIsHome #GSPforever #GSPlove  Some stories are simply meant to have a happy ending, and Remi's is one of them.
Before coming into rescue, Remi suffered unimaginable hardship. After being hit by a car, she was taken to a veterinary clinic to be euthanized. Thankfully, fate had other plans. The veterinarian saw something special in this sweet girl, generously donated the surgery she needed, and then reached out to our rescue for help finding her forever home. We knew Remi deserved a second chance, but we had no idea that her forever family was already waiting for her. When the Moon family welcomed Remi into their home as a foster dog, they weren't looking to add another dog to their family. They simply wanted to help while she healed and waited for the perfect adopter to come along. As it turns out, they were the perfect adopters all along. "When Remi first came to us, we had two dogs and were not looking for another, just wanted to help out with fostering until a great home was found for her. My wife and I fell in love with her from day one. She is very sweet and spends most of her time with one of us in the recliner, though probably a little more with my wife. She is definitely a Velcro dog! She loves to fetch, play in our yard, and hunt rabbits and squirrels. She gets along well with our other dogs, and they love to play together. She is a great addition to our family!" We are beyond grateful to the Moon family for opening their hearts and home to Remi during her recovery, loving her through the healing process, and ultimately giving her the forever home she deserves. A special thank you also goes to the veterinarian who refused to give up on Remi and made her second chance possible through such an incredible act of generosity. Remi's journey is a beautiful reminder of what can happen when compassionate people come together to save a life. Congratulations, Remi and Moon family! We couldn't be happier for all of you.  We are so excited to share an update from Marisha and Keith on their newest family member!
Bandit, now named Waylon, has been with them for just over 10 days, and it already feels like he has always been part of the family. He has been a wonderful addition, and their current GSP, Ruger, has fully embraced his new sibling. Waylon is the happiest, goofiest, most cuddly boy who is still figuring out exactly how a dog bed is supposed to work, but his family has no doubt he will get it soon. He is settling in beautifully and bringing so much joy to his new home. Marisha and Keith are beyond excited for all the future adventures ahead and feel so grateful to get to love him for the rest of his life. Happy news today… Brix has chosen his forever home! He spent 8 weeks in a shelter before SEGSP was contacted. And he also recovered from his leg surgery and abscess once in rescue. This ball obsessed GSP is finally HOME!
Thank you to Jennifer and Guy for fostering Brix and CONGRATS to Brix and the White family!  Bob… oops, we mean Jasper, has found his forever home – right where he is with his foster family! Jasper came to rescue as a stray and thanks to his family, he gained weight, played lots of backyard bird hunting and learned all sorts of new things.
Congratulations to Jasper and the Meyer family!  After spending all five years of his life on a hunting plantation, Hoss suddenly found himself needing a new beginning when the property was sold. Along with his siblings, he was taken in by a local Humane Society, and before long, he found his way to SEGSP Rescue.
What happened next is one of our favorite kind of adoption stories. Hoss landed in foster care with Kenneth, one of our amazing volunteers. Kenneth opened his home to Hoss, offering him a safe place to land while he waited for his forever family. As it turns out, Hoss didn’t have to wait very long at all. Somewhere along the way, Kenneth decided to change things up a bit. Instead of being Hoss’s foster home, he became Hoss’s forever home. When asked how things were going, Kenneth told us: “Hoss is at home. He fits with me and all his brothers. He is learning how to be a dog again, not just a tool in somebody’s toolbox. He has his own chair, and I think he wants to stay here.” One of Kenneth’s earliest updates melted our hearts: “Last Monday when I picked him up, he was scared of everything. In one week he has become a Velcro puppy. He is glued to me.” And the photos say it all. Hoss can often be found snuggled up with his 16-year-old Lab sister, Samantha, enjoying the comfort, security, and love every dog deserves.  Bubba is home! Thanks to his foster mom, Linda (also SEGSP’s Board Treasurer), Bubba has found the perfect home with his new mom, Lorelei. Bubba is young so he is going to have a long, happy life with his new family! Congrats everyone!
 Lily is home! She is officially with the Young family - her new family (left photo), the Young family. Her foster mom, Nora (right photo) said, “I think Lily remembered them from the meet and greet, she galloped over to see them!”
Thank you, Nora, for giving Lily your love, patience and time, making sure Lily went to the right home for her specific personality. Congrats everyone – it’s a happy day!  The Assads, long-time SEGSP volunteers and parents to Harley (formerly Cooper), welcomed Rooster into their family! He fits right in and has quickly become best buds with his brother Bugsy and sister Harley.
