YAY - Joseph has officially found his forever home with Dani and Eric! We were overwhelmed by the love shown for Joseph, receiving applications from so many amazing families.   

Thank you to everyone who took the time to apply and opened their hearts to this special boy.  Please keep looking… we have 30 GSPs in rescue and once they have completed their health plan and training, they will also be looking for forever homes.


From his new mom, Dani: “Joseph has found his forever home with us! This year brought heartbreak that’s hard to put into words. I lost my dad very suddenly, and just months later, Eric and I said goodbye to our 11-year-old GSP to lung cancer. Our house, and our hearts, felt so broken and completely empty. Joseph’s rescue post went up on the exact three-month anniversary of my dad’s passing. And my dad’s name? Joseph, too. It felt a little like divine intervention.
 
Since we’ve had GSPs before, we know exactly what we’re getting into. Joey is all velocity, heart, and love. He wants to be wherever we are, doing whatever we’re doing, at full speed. He’s already settled in like he’s been part of our family for years, not days. Right now, Eric is out on a long-distance motorcycle challenge across the country, so Joey is getting acclimated to our home with me and his GiGi. He’s in great hands, and Eric will have a whole new best friend waiting for him at the finish line.


We split our time between Tampa and New Jersey, and Joey is already lining up to be part of all of our adventures - hikes, swims, and long walks in both the North and the Southeast. We truly feel like he hit the jackpot, and honestly, so did we.”


A very special thank you to The Williamsons for being such an incredible foster family. They loved Joseph as their own, helped him grow into the amazing dog he is today, and gave him everything he needed while he waited for his forever family. We are so grateful for all they have done for Joseph and for SEGSP Rescue.
