Addison has found her forever home, right with her foster family, the Moons! Her dad said, "Addie is working out great for us! She gets along great with our yellow lab, Ella. She comes when I call and does well off leash in the yard. She's very calm in the house and loves to take naps in our laps." We are so grateful for the Moon family and how much they give back to our rescue by fostering. And we are thrilled that this one was a foster "fail." Sometimes, it's just the perfect fit, even if you didn't expect it.
Lulu has so much to celebrate… March 18th was her 4th birthday and it’s also her Gotcha Day. That’s right, she found her forever home! Her foster mom Katherine said “It’s the perfect start to her new life with her forever family (born 3/18/2021 and adopted 3/18/2025). Only God! He cares for our doggies as much as we do!!”
Lulu is an extremely lucky girl to have been fostered by Katherine and her family. THANK YOU, Katherine, – you are so very appreciated! And congrats to Lulu and her new family! Birdie (TN) had a talk with her foster sister, Kennedi. And Kennedi asked her if she’d mind just going ahead and staying with her and her foster mom, Taylor, forever. And Birdie said yes! Kennedi had always wanted a little sister and can’t wait to teach her all her tricks!
From her mom, Taylor: “After a few weeks of adjusting, I knew Birdie was right where she belonged! Her sweet little face and her spunky personality stole my heart! She has adjusted so well to our crazy lifestyle. Her and Kennedi (my 4-year-old GSP) have grown so close and play non-stop and love to cuddle on the couch! I couldn’t picture our little family without her now! She has been the perfect addition, and I can’t wait to watch her grow up! Kennedi and I are beyond excited to be adding Bird with us!” An exciting and happy beginning to your forever story. We can’t wait to watch you grow and blossom! Taylor, thank you so much for fostering this sweet puppy! #SEGSPrescue #BirdieIsHome #GSPforever Kira has found her forever home with the Whitaker family. And it's safe to say that they're as happy to have her as she is to have them. Just look at the love in this pic!
Her family said they are happy to welcome Kira into their home. The pups are getting along great (she has a brother named Boo, and English Pointer). She is picking up on using the doggie door and even likes the chickens! Her new mom said "We are proud to support the work of SEGSP Rescue and Kira seems to fit our family perfectly." Thank you to Kira's foster mom Tracy for helping Kira along her journey - we have amazing foster volunteers! #SEGSPrescue #KiraIsHome #GSPforever Hardy is home! His forever home, that is. His foster mom Denise said, “I am delighted to share some wonderful news with you all. We had an exciting celebration for John, Misty, and Hardy as they marked their Gotcha Day! It was a special moment for them, as they made it a memorable occasion. Dog treats and a toy champagne bottle was awaiting him. We are looking forward to their journey and the joy that they bring to each other's lives. Looking forward to seeing them bloom together!"
Denise, we can’t thank you enough for making sure Hardy found the best home and helping him along his journey – you’re the best! And congratulations to Hardy and his new family. #SEGSPrescue #HardyIsHome #GSPforever Another success story… Gale, now Willow, has found her forever home. She came to rescue in her mama Millie’s belly from a GA shelter and SURPRISE, Millie gave birth at the end of her transport to Florida (in-between hurricanes) and Willow was one of her pups.
Her new mom Haley said, “She is doing so well with us, and we absolutely adore her. She has made many dog friends in the neighborhood already that she gets to play with, and she’s so spoiled with several walks every day! She is truly the sweetest dog I’ve ever met and loves all people and dogs that she meets. She does amazing in her crate at night and she has gotten so good at walking on a leash. She’s so smart and we are so lucky to have her!” We love happy news! And we can’t forget to thank Willow’s first fosterers Karter and Storie, as well as her next foster family with foster dad Kevin, who found the perfect home for Willow. #SEGSPrescue #WillowIsHome #GSPforever On this St. Patrick’s day it seems appropriate to announce that Lucky has found his forever home with the Golden family.
His new mom said, “Finn (formerly known as Lucky) is the perfect gentleman. He is so calm and sweet with his new brothers and sisters. He is a true Velcro GSP…stuck like glue to our sides and constantly underfoot in the best way possible. We feel so “lucky” to have been chosen to be his new family. He is truly the bestest boy. As a side note: thank you so much to each and every person that came into contact with him at SEGSP Rescue. I know he was in rough shape when he arrived and took a lot of care and money to get him to where he is today. We are deeply grateful and appreciative.” It truly took a village with this sweet boy. He came to rescue emaciated and it was discovered that he has seizures. He had some angels as fosterers: Gigi, the Shelley’s and the Barkers, who all loved and cared for him, getting him healthy, and showing him what it’s like to feel love and be part of a family. And transporters helped, too: Amy, Tylor and Marian. Each person that met him knew immediately that he was special and instantly fell in love. We are so thrilled that the Goldens have adopted him and know that he has a wonderful life ahead. Congrats, Finn! #SEGSPrescue #GSPforever #GSPlove Sweet puppy Rain was recently adopted! Her dad wrote to say, “She’s doing great. Loves to play with other dogs and really likes meeting new people. She’s been through several sessions of puppy training and is learning fast, but still has her moments. We couldn’t be happier and feel lucky to have found her.” Keep learning & growing Rain!
Happy Foster Fail Friday! Mocha, now Sadie, is HOME (with her foster, now forever family)! And she deserves all this love… she went through 4 months of heartworm treatment and for a young GSP that is SUPER hard since she had exercise restriction. Yuck. But it’s all love and snuggles from here on out… And her family’s GSP Winnie is very excited to have a little sister. Congratulations to Sadie and the Purcell family!
Chloe is estimated to be 14 years old.
She is anxious. She does not like to be left alone. She’s never met a stuffie or squeaky she doesn’t like. She is hard of hearing…or maybe just extremely selective in what she hears. She always knows when I’m in the kitchen. She walks 3.25 miles to start each day. She countersurfs. She has some old lady lumps. She loves to sleep on furniture. She hunts frogs. She got a perfect bill of health from the vet last week. She naps hard. She barks like a fool. She deserves a home. Turns out, she’s been in hers for 372 days. Chloe is adopted, as a foster fail. She appreciated all the work put into searching for a forever home, but Chloe had different plans - she wanted to stay right where she was. Yup, another foster fail! Thank you Jackie for loving her and helping her senior years be amazing. |
