Mason (GA) has found his forever home!
Thank you to his foster mom Whitney for all she did for Mason. He came to rescue with Miller and Rackit, and Whitney did the transport as well as foster both Mason and Miller. That makes her foster total 4 now (without any foster fails ) – THANK YOU! Congratulations to Mason and his new parents, Dawn and Ray! #SEGSPrescue #GSPforever #MasonIsHome Marion, now Georgia has found her forever home with the Sizemore family. They are very excited to add her as a part of their family alongside her new canine companion Maui. Thank you, Jessica, for fostering her. Today is a very happy day!
It’s time for another foster fail Friday! Pinto in Tennessee is a guy who knows what he wants. And what he wants to do is stay at his foster home....forever. Luckily, his foster family agrees and they want him to stay, too! Here's what his new mom said, "We didn’t plan on keeping Pinto… but some things are just meant to be. From the moment he came into our home, his sweet personality and calm, well-behaved nature won us over. He and our 3-year-old GSP Boone became instant best friends, like they’ve known each other forever. Whether they’re running full speed outside or curled up together for a nap, they’re inseparable. Pinto is the friend we didn’t know we needed—protective, affectionate, and obviously charming! He’s got the energy to play all day, but he’ll never say no to a snuggle session on the couch. We couldn’t let him go." What a wonderful happy new beginning for Pinto. We are thrilled! (He’s shown here with the orange collar with his mom and brother, Boone.)
This Foster Focus is on Foster Fails. And the winner is… Richard and Marjie, our longtime Florida foster volunteers who have fostered 12 GSPs and “foster failed” with 11 of them!!! The latest two are Lizzie and Josie who we are officially announcing today – CONGRATS!!
Richard, a veterinarian, and Marjie, have helped SEGSP with some of the most devastating cases we’ve seen and foster them through recovery, then falling in love and adopting them. We are forever indebted to Richard and Marjie’s dedication to helping all animals in need, especially GSPs. SEGSP does not have a facility and depends 100% on foster homes to save dogs. Woody (formerly Wardlow) has found his forever home! Thank you to his temp foster families, Marty and Kathy, for helping Woody prepare for this happy day. And congratulations to Woody and the Wright family.
We have exciting news… Preacher is home! And his new name is Beavis (LOL we love that). Thank you so very much to his foster parents Chuck and Jennifer for all they did for this sweet guy. And CONGRATULATIONS to Beavis and the Burke family!
Happy news to start the day... Raisin, now spelled Raisen, is staying in the family – her foster family is now her forever family. She came from a FL shelter and is on her way to a wonderful new life. Congrats to everyone, especially Raisen!
It’s a great day for a Foster Fail! We are thrilled to announce that Asher has found his forever home… with his foster family. His mom Juli said, “You know he is our 3rd fur baby from SEGSP rescue. Bo was the first, then Peppers. When we lost Peppers unexpectedly- at 9 years old he had a tumor on his heart and was really sick - it was a blow. He left such a hole. We usually wait 6-12 months before getting another dog, but our Rhodesian Ridgeback Zuki was 1 year old and so scared and timid - and really missed Peppers. So, we got Asher! The minute she saw him it was love at first sight! Asher is a real loverboy and he fit right into our family from the moment he arrived. We sent him love up until the day we got him, and he felt it. He moved right in like ‘Here’s my new forever family!’ He is a typical shorthair (we’ve had 7 now!) He's a whiner, a digger and a love bug! He and Zuki are so bonded already, and it’s only been a month. He gets to go to the dog park with Dad every day and it’s very clear he loves that we are home all the time. He is a gentle, sweet soul, and we are thrilled to have him in our family.” Congrats to Asher, Julie, Paul and Zuki!
Shadow has done it – he’s found his forever family. And he has a GSP sibling too! Shadow was found as a stray in SC, so we don’t know what his former life was like, but we know his future life is going to be AWESOME! Thank you to his foster mom Amy for showing Shadow how great life can be and helping him find his forever home. And CONGRATS to Shadow and the Davis family!
Exciting News! It’s another foster fail Friday From mom Kristin, “We’re thrilled to share that our sweet Maizy (formerly Doppler), one of Millie’s pups, has officially joined our family! We began fostering her in early December through SEGSP Rescue here in South Florida, and it didn’t take long for us to realize this little girl was meant to stay with us forever. Maizy has fit in beautifully with our pack, and we couldn’t adore her more. She’s a social butterfly who loves both people and other dogs. While she can be a tad shy at first, her warm and loving nature shines through in no time. She’s already had so many fun adventures—she adores her walks, is obsessed with car rides, and even enjoyed her first boat trip recently! We are absolutely smitten with this sweet girl and can’t wait to make even more memories with her by our side. ” #SEGSPRescue #FosterFail #ForeverHome
