Annie (GA) is officially a foster fail. From the Hunt family, “She pretty much weaseled her way into our hearts from day 1, stepping right into the footsteps of Lady, our 2016 alumna who passed away last year. Annie has all the personality and energy of a young GSP, plus an extra dose of affection. She is the snuggliest dog we have ever owned. And that says all lot because her foster brother Erwin (2021 alumnus) already has no concept of personal space. Annie just got the all-clear after her recent spay surgery, where she unfortunately also had to have three fractured teeth pulled. That’s ok, she doesn’t need premolars for giving nose nibbles anyway. She has been working hard on her potty training and learning commands. She is still a shy girl and very wary of strangers but is slowly warming up - especially the coffee shop lady who gives her dog biscuits.” Welcome to forever Annie!
YAY Reba! She knew it from the beginning… her foster home was really her forever home. This girl has been through a lot and no doubt deserves this stability and overwhelming love for the rest of her life. She came to rescue from a very bad situation and thankfully a Good Samaritan, Mary Francis, saved her, and kept her while she recovered from ringworm. She was very skittish and afraid, as well as sick with heartworms, and her foster family helped her recover and showed her how wonderful life can be. Congratulations to Reba and the Robinett family – it’s a very happy day!
Walker is home! He found his forever family thanks to the dedication of his foster mom, Darcy. Darcy said, “Walker with his new family, the O’Day’s. He’s swimming already! My heart is so happy.”
Our heart is happy also – Thank you Darcy and congrats to Walker and the O’Day family! Willie has done it – he’s found his forever home! Willie came to rescue with his puppy siblings late last year. He overcame some yucky worms and learned a lot of new things thanks to his foster mom Brooke. Thank you so much Brooke – we know fostering a puppy can be very demanding! Brooke said, “We are so glad Willie has found his forever home with this family!”
His new family bought all new beds, crates, bowls, toys, food, etc. and they are “100 percent keeping his name” and have been listening to Willie Nelson top hits every night. They said, “We are so excited! A huge thank you to everyone involved in such a great rescue! And especially Brooke for raising such a sweet baby! We promise to keep pictures coming!” Congratulations to Willie and the Heilig family! Great news to start the day… River has found her forever home! Her new mom said, “River has been adjusting great. Her and her sister Sadie love playing together, going on walks, and cuddling each other. River definitely loves cuddles and enjoys snuggles with her dad. She has made herself right at home. We love that River has joined our family.”
And of course, this happy news wouldn’t be possible without the hard work of her foster dad Ernie, who took the time to find the right, i.e. perfect, home for River. THANK YOU, Ernie and congratulations River and the Jones family! Rebel is home—forever! From foster pup to forever family member, Rebel has officially been adopted by his amazing foster parents, Sarah and Jason! “When we decided to foster Rebel, we weren’t expecting it to be love at first sight—not for us, nor his foster sisters—but it was!” they shared. “After just a couple of weeks (or let’s be honest, a couple of days), we knew this guy was right where he was supposed to be. We just wanted to make sure he would have the happiest life with us.” And that life is looking pretty great! Rebel now spends his days hanging with his sisters Cece (a fellow SEGSP alum!) and Tilly, and bonding with all the little farm critters—including his morning check-ins with Tofu the cow and cooling off in the water trough like the big baby boy he is. We’re so happy for this sweet, well-behaved boy and beyond grateful to Sarah and Jason for opening their hearts and home. Cheers to a lifetime of adventures, love, and trough time, Rebel!
Dash, who was raised in a kennel before he arrived at SEGSP, learned so much about love from his foster mom and dad, that he has made the decision to stay right where he is – with Barb and Mike. His new mom said, “Let's not call it a foster fail but a foster success!” We agree! Congrats everyone – another ‘successful’ adoption
She just couldn’t do it… and he agreed. That’s Right, Randall is staying right where he is with his foster, now forever, family! Randall had a rough life but all that is behind him… he now has a family that will give him lots of walks to visit neighbors, good food, lots of love and of course, cuddles! Congrats to the Wildman family and Randall! Happy Foster Fail Friday.
Rip has found his forever home, and he has a SEGSP Alum, Luke, to show him the ropes. We know Rip is super sweet, smart and has the right amount of GSP energy… and of course he loves to cuddle and be near his humans. We’ve learned his new favorite thing to do is run the backyard perimeter fence chasing those pesky birds.
His new dad said, “Day one with Rip could have not gone better. He’s been pretty chill given all the changes. He was good on the ride home and first outing with him to Pets Plus, where he was the perfect gentleman. He loves to run in our backyard and chase birds (as well as mark his territory!). He didn’t eat much yesterday, so we hope his appetite comes back today. In addition to a couple walks, lots of kiss and snuggling with us, Rip had a great first day. We set up his crate in our bedroom, which he settled down and went into pretty easy last night. I left the door open. He did get up around 1:30am, so I put his out and then put him back in the crate and shut the door. He only cried for about 2-3 minutes and then back to sleep. He is laying in his dog bed next to me right now waiting for the sprinklers to stop in the backyard!” Rip, congratulations to you and the LaPine family. Thank you for choosing to rescue a GSP again. And thank you so much to Cody and Amy, Rip’s amazing Foster Parents. We are so grateful to you! #SEGSPrescue #GSPforever #GSPlove The Laskey family said… Miller is HOME!
That’s right — their very first foster pup became a foster fail, and we couldn’t be happier! Miller (the fuller liver pup) quickly stole the hearts of his new family — including his new fur brother, Murphy (with the white ticking). These two are now inseparable, spending their days hunting in the backyard, splashing in the pool, and soaking up all the snuggles they can get. The Laskeys shared: “Our whole family loves Miller and we’re grateful he found us.” YAY for foster fails — the happiest kind of fail there is! Welcome home, Miller! #FosterFailFriday #SEGSPRescue #HappyTails #GSPForever #FosterWin #AdoptedAndLoved |
