It’s a happy day! Madison is now named Luci. CONGRATS Luci on finding your forever home! She has really started to settle in. She's already learned a ton and has relaxed a bit now that she's comfortable in her new routine. Her new brother is evening warming up to her! (we love the photo of them bonding).

A HUGE thank you to Luci’s foster mom Avril, who did so much for Luci and was very helpful to Luci’s new family while they all adjusted. We’re so happy for Luci and the entire Garner family!

Dakota

Dakota is home!  Dakota, age 9, came into rescue as an owner surrender from a loving owner who wanted nothing more than finding her a good home.  She spent her first month with her foster Family Dave and Stephanie, their 2 children and 2 dogs. They did a great job getting her adjusted to this new change in her life and finding the perfect home for her.

Her new mom Polly said, “We found out about Dakota when she first entered rescue and we inquired about her because she is beautiful and we loved her name. We grew up in North Dakota. …She is a young 9, full of GSP energy, an avid lizard hunter, wants to learn and please, has serious FOMO and very much a typical Velcro GSP.  She is bringing Joy back into our home after recently losing Dory.”

Congratulations Dakota and her new family – it’s a very happy day

Congratulations to our newest alumnus, Gunner, who found his forever home! His new mom and dad, Dale and Kippy, said, “We would like to express our extreme gratitude to the SEGSP rescue organization and a special thanks to John for his amazing fostering skills that has molded a fabulous GSP that we just adopted. Thank you to Team Gunner for making this possible for our family.”

Thank you to Gunner’s foster John for all he’s done to help Gunner along his path.

Lydia is home!   Lydia came to SEGSP with her sister Lorelei from the West Point-Clay County Animal shelter in MS (thank you to the shelter Director Neely for contacting us). Sadly, someone witnessed them being dumped by their owner.  But that turned out to be a blessing.  Lydia is now in a wonderful forever home with Barbara and Terry, who are longtime SEGSP volunteers and former adopter.

A HUGE thank you to Lydia’s foster family, especially Stephanie, who  has shown Lydia what love is and found the right forever home for her.

Congratulations to Lydia, Barbara and Terry!

From Desperation to Destiny — Beau’s Journey Home
When our volunteer Heidi saw a shelter notice about Beau (formerly Ice), she couldn’t look away. Emaciated, dangerously ill from a severe parasite load, anemic and in shock, Beau needed urgent help. Heidi immediately reached out to SEGSP Rescue, pleading for his life.
Beau was pulled from the shelter and placed in foster care with Kathy, who gave him the care and time he needed to heal. Despite being thousands of miles away in Germany visiting family, Heidi never stopped checking in on him—her heart had already bonded with the sweet boy she hadn’t even met.  Once Beau was healthy and ready for adoption, it only felt right that Heidi and her husband Hermann would meet him in person. Having recently lost their beloved girl Pepper, they hoped to find a companion for their dog Radley (former SEGSP adoption) —and the connection was instant.

Today, Beau has found his forever home with the people who first saw his worth when he had nothing left to give.  Congratulations to Beau and his amazing new family—Heidi, Hermann, and Radley. Your journey is just beginning.
