Happy happy foster fail Friday on this beautiful Valentines Day! From foster, now forever mom, Vicki, “Whoever said Diamonds are a girls best friend never loved a German Shorthair Pointer! Happy Valentine’s Day to me as we welcome Jacob as part of our family, that’s right you heard me, he is staying right here where he is comfortable and happy. The moment I looked in Jacob’s eyes I knew our souls were bound by understanding and love, and would be for the rest of our lives. Jacob came to me with the worst separation anxiety I have ever dealt with and it absolutely broke my heart in two. The look of desperation and pain that I saw in his eyes when he knew I was leaving was unbearable and it just made you want to hug him tight. After purchasing an Assisi Loop, working on nose work, getting a proper kennel and making sure he was well exercised I finally broke through his anxiety enough to start his training. He is now kennel trained and can roam free in the house when I leave to go to work or run errands. He is the best GSP, very well mannered, loves all dogs and humans, is fully trained off leash and on leash, loves to hunt, go for car rides, go to work with me, ride on the boat and of course snuggle up at night and watch tv. I don’t know what I did in this world to deserve another soul mate but I will love and cherish him from this day until the end. He is mine and I am his and together we will brighten everyone’s world just a little bit more through laughter and all the shenanigans with his new siblings Fatty McFatterson the OG GSP, SEGSP Alums Minnie Pearl and JJ McShorty and the one and only Fighting Chance Rescue Alum Tater Tot. My world is complete, my heart is full, and I have more happiness in this house than anyone could ever need. Live your life on your own terms, love with every breath you breathe, be thankful for the little things that bring you joy and for the love of every rescue dog out there please adopt, don’t shop!” What a lucky pair! #valentinestreat #adoptdontshop #fosterfailfriday #segsprescue
