My sister, Luka, has been showing me how to do all the tricks for some yummy treats! I’ve been adjusting to my new home very well and have been loving life!”
 
Congrats Goose!  And thank you to Marielle and Kanupp Kennels for working with Braxton during his time in rescue, as well as the volunteers who took Braxton to vet visits and made sure he had what he needed. Our volunteers ROCK!

​Happy news!  Rosie (left) has found her forever home.  Congratulations to Lisa, Joe and Rosie (and her sister, 2010 SEGSP Alum, Lily)!  Rosie had a rough start to her life… she got in the way of a car and lost her right hind leg, then she was surrendered to a shelter.  But her life has turned around and she is ready to live her best life with her forever family.  YAY Rosie!  
A HUGE thank you to Rosie’s foster parents, Stephanie and Phil, for all they’ve done for Rosie! 

​Maverick, aka Mav, has done it – he has found his forever home!  He’s a young boy so he needed a family that could handle all of his exuberance for life  and he found it.  A BIG THANK YOU to Maverick’s foster mom Lynn and her family for helping Mav along his rescue journey.

​Junie B met her adoptive parents (Julia and Brad) this past Saturday.  We are so thrilled for both the Carpenters and Junie.
 
Junie is going to GSP paradise with acres to run, a pond to splash in and a GSP sibling to play with all the rest of her days.   Our conversations with Julia made us feel that Junie was going to the right place and when we met them this past Saturday, we knew we made the right decision.
 
A very big thank you to Erik and Carla for fostering Junie B. Junie is such a sweet girl and fostering her was so much fun!  
 
Junie B was one of the 16 Enfield dogs brought in over the summer from the hoarding/breeding kennels. It is amazing to see every one of these dogs get their forever ending.

Spot made it to his forever home, and he couldn’t be happier.  A HUGE thank you to his foster parents Art and Debbie for helping Spot along his journey.  Art said that Spot has hit the jackpot, and we think so as well.  
 
He now has a Springer Spaniel and Yorkie playmate and a fenced yard to have fun with them.  And he’s looking forward to learning new things with his dad, who has a training background.  What a great life for Spot!

Cole and his foster family have made a big decision… Cole will be staying there FOREVER!  YAY!  His foster, now forever, mom said, “After lots of conversation among the humans and much time spent with Cole, we have decided we want him to officially join our family as a permanent resident. When I initially took him as a temporary foster, I told Sharon (foster mom #2) that he had strong potential for a foster fail. Well, the stars aligned in Cole’s favor. He returned to us to foster, and now the Sheltons realize he is a great fit for our family. He’s already been running with my mom crew and shows promise to be a weekend hunting buddy for my husband. Without a doubt he will have lots of head pats, belly rubs, and a human to lean against. We love this good boy and are excited by how easily he has made himself with us.”

Froggy is home! And her new family, the Hepburns, seem to be the perfect family for her.
 
Her new mom, Dalene said, “Our first GSP Sadie Mae was a rescue. We had a fun & love filled 10 years with her. She left us at 14 years of age in the fall of 2022. We knew some day we would want another dog, a GSP rescue. I had been watching the SEGSP FB page for almost a year waiting for the pain of my loss to quiet to a dull ache. It did, and I saw one dog that really spoke to me. He was adopted almost immediately, and so I knew he must not have been the one for us. Along came Froggy. Her sweet face caught my attention and her bio sounded great. My husband was hesitant to take a senior having watched me struggle losing Sadie Mae, but I convinced him that it wouldn't matter if the loss came again sooner or not, because the important part would be everything before that. We look forward to loving Froggy for however long we are blessed to have her. She is a sweet girl. and I know her Foster Mom Kara & siblings miss her, thank you for taking such good care of her. SEGSP thank you for all you do.”
 
We are so grateful to Kara for fostering Froggy and also to the Hepburns for adopting a senior dog.  Froggy seems to be fitting in just fine according to our reports and we couldn’t be happier for her!  Congrats everyone!

Volunteer & foster, Ellen, has recently signed an email to us calling her home “foster fail central.” This is the best news for Myra! She has been adopted by the Thomas’… her foster, now forever, family. Such great news. 
 
Three years ago, the Thomas family also adopted Nova from SEGSP Rescue. Here is a photo of the whole family enjoying beach time!
