The Wright family has adopted Karma of FL this week. Thank you to her first foster mom Llona for saving her from the shelter and to Amanda for doing the home check and to Alicia for fostering her long term! It looks like karma will have an amazing life - agility, swimming at the lake, and lots of love in front of her. Happy tails, Karma Chamelon! Thank you for all that helped her on her journey!
SHE SAID YES TO FOREVER! We are so excited for Bailey, now Oakley for saying yes to forever. From Foster mom Vicki… “Bailey now forever known as Oakley by her new family has chosen her forever home with her new mom Christy and dad Michael. It was love at first belly rub for Oakley formerly known as Bailey, she knew that someone that had time to get up at 4 am to just meet her to give her belly rubs was the right person to spoil her for the rest of her life. Bailey girl you are extra special to me because I knew you before you became a rescue, I knew you as a client that came over for vacations with your siblings when mom and dad were away. Coming to my house as a foster was an easy transition for you because you already knew everyone and had your friends to support you on your new journey. I don’t want you to be sad today, I know you’ll miss your friends but I also know that getting one on one attention from a family without having to know your place with other animals is the best situation for you and you are going to thrive. You’ve never known a life of an only child but your foster brother Fatty McFatterson has told you how amazing that life is and how much he misses it. You get all the toys, kibble, chickem nuggies and snacks all to yourself, girl you are gonna be in doggie utopia at your new house. They say sharing is caring but trust me when I tell you being an only child is heaven on earth. Your new family has friends that have dogs so you will still get to play with new friends and enjoy the best life but when it comes to your home, it’s just that YOUR HOME! I’m so proud of you and I will miss my hugs from you something terrible and I will miss all the help you have given me through training other dogs how to be social to just playing with everyone so they are fully exhausted and relaxed at night. You’ve been the best little co-worker a girl could ever ask for. I love you sweet girl and this isn’t goodbye, you aren’t going far enough away for it to ever be goodbye. Like your new mommy I too would drive 3 hours to just give you belly rubs. It’s really crazy that we picked you up to bring you into the rescue as a foster on a rainy day and now here we are taking you to your new home on a rainy day. You my girl are just a bright ball of sunshine to show us all there is always a bright wonderful happy ending to all stories when we are given the chance to shine! I love you as much as Fatty McFatterson loves snacks baby girl, you go and spread that sunshine like glitter confetti! Till we meet again!” Thank you Vicki for helping this sweet girl find forever.
Otis has decided… and he is now officially adopted! His meet and greet with Suzanne and Chris went so well and his foster mom Kerry knew it was a match instantly. A big thank you to Kerry for everything she’s done to get Otis ready for his big adoption day. And congratulations to Otis, Suzanne and Chris!
Maya did it – she found her forever home! Her new name is Kaya, and she is a happy girl.
Her foster mom Barbara said, “Terry and I are so excited for Mila for finding a family that is well equipped to handle her GSP energy. It was a joy having Mila in our home for this journey and we will miss her. We know how excited the Lyon’s family is to have Mila and we can’t wait to see her flourish in her new home.” Thank you, Barbara and Terry, for finding Kaya the perfect home for her. And congrats to Kaya and the Lyon family! Pssst…. We have a very special senior adoption announcement! Max (the one in NC) will be staying right where he is at with the Marshall family! From his foster-turned-forever mom, “Him and my fiancé have just become the best of friends, he’s a great addition to our pack and he feels very at home here.”
Congratulations Marshall family for fostering and giving Max his forever home! It was a wonderful Monday for Coco (formerly Cary) as she finally found her perfect family to love and adore. Her new mom Angela and dad Wayne are so excited to be adding her to the family, but we think her new brother Goose is going to be the most excited of them all to have a sibling.
Her foster mom Vicki wants Coco to know… Oh my sweet Coco Puff I am cuckoo for you! You stole my heart the first lap you took around the yard greeting all the dogs and loving every single one of them big and small. You were the best foster and so easy and smart. I really did not want you to go and if there weren’t so many other unfortunate dogs that need my help you would have stayed with me forever, but the truth is you are too good for me sweet girl. You are brilliant, social and lovable which makes you a perfect candidate for adoption and when I spoke to your new mom for the first time and heard the excitement in her voice, I knew you were meant to be with them. You are going to have the best life spending your summers in Michigan surrounded by land and water with acres upon acres to run and enjoy your new brother Goose. Then when those Michigan days turn cold you will pack up and head to the beach here by me and spend hours upon hours chasing seagulls and waves on the beach. You my girl have hit the jackpot with your new family, and I even had to talk your mom out of driving to my house in the middle of the night to pick you up because she was so excited to see your sweet face that she couldn’t sleep. I’m so proud of you for graduating training and respecting all the boundaries, obstacles and schedules I’ve put you through in order to set you on your way to greatness. I will cry tonight as I go to kiss you as I always do and you aren’t there but I will smile knowing you are snuggling with your new mom and brother as you rest up for your journey to meet your new dad. I can’t wait for the updates of how you enjoyed the beach and how you love your new home and your brother. Enjoy this life that you absolutely deserve baby girl, you will always carry a part of my heart with you. Big Hugs and Wiggle Butts Love your crazy foster mom, Vicki Congratulations Coco and thank you, Vicki, you never cease to amaze us with how many dogs you help along their journey! Recent alumnus, Cole has been busy! Thank you to foster mom, now forever mom, Susan. From Susan, “I just wanted to give an update on Cole (officially Cole Boudreaux, “Cole B’reaux”). He spent nearly 2mo with a trainer to help prep him to be a hobby hunting dog for my husband. The trainer was honest with us—he has potential but likely had some poor use of an e-collar early in life and is pretty stubborn (“Cole is hunting for himself.”). Alas, he is home just “being a dog”. We want him to understand fun, companionship, and to feel safe. We may revisit training later, but he’ll definitely get some time in the woods when the threat of snakes in N FL/ So GA is less. At home he is a masterful pointer of lizards and keeps my walking pace sub-14. My friends are glad when he joins for 0515 runs or walks because he definitely keeps us moving. He is an absolute snuggle bug, a sneaky counter surfer, and a wonderful addition to our crew (maybe a debatable point by the 9- and 10-yr old canine sisters!) Foster fail with no regrets!!” We don’t blame you for being “just a dog” Cole. It sounds like your life is pretty grand.
Congratulations to Curt, now called Cole, who has found his forever home! His new dad Ryan said, “He's so sweet and is getting along great with our Aussie Kyra and he did amazing on our first hike together.”
A big thank you to his foster mom Tracie for finding the perfect home for Cole. We have amazing volunteers! Happy, happy news today… Wendy, now called Windy, has decided her foster dad is awesome so she decided to stay right where she is… forever!
We know it wasn’t the bath she received that made up her mind… though no doubt it was the ‘being dried off’ part of baths, visiting other dogs but having her dad all to herself at home, and discovering toys are so much fun. Yup, all those things plus being loved and cherished! Definitely. Congratulations to Windy and Joe (and their friend Jessica)! Great news to end the day… Chloe (the one in FL) has found her forever home with Karen and Jonathan! Chloe will now have a GSP brother and sister to love and play with, and a big, fenced yard to hunt bunnies, squirrels, and lizards. We have no doubt she will be loved and entertained with visits to sand bars, car rides and just running!
Congrats! And thank you to her foster mom Sarah for all she's done for Chloe. We look forward to receiving updates on Alum Chloe. |
