Gus

Amazing news from Foster Vicki: “Gus and I have some amazing news to share with everyone! He is officially retiring to Florida with his new forever parents Bryan and Suzi! He will live the life of leisure with all the other Floridian’s, drinking frozen daiquiris out by the pool, enjoying boat rides with dad, going fishing, taking runs on the beach and terrorizing the seagulls. Gus Gus it’s been a long journey for you my friend, from being rescued to having surgery that wasn’t as easy as we were hoping, the long recovery with the thousands of bandage changes, the late nights of pain, the early mornings for meds and of course another bandage change. Wow it’s been a tough one but you my boy took it all in stride like the amazing dog you are. I’m gonna miss your early morning whining telling me it’s time to get up, your give me a snack whimper, your happy laps around the island, you sitting at the pantry door because you knew where the good snacks came from. Most of all I’m gonna miss your Linus personality and you carrying that blanket around with you every where you go. You were the easiest foster to have, you just went with the flow and you were happy just hanging out and watching all the other dogs act like teenagers, you were the grandpa we all needed around. You are going to love your new life in Florida but what you are going to love most is having a house and your humans all to yourself. No more annoying dogs in your way, no more waiting on 10 food bowls to be made before being fed, no more separating the house because it’s all yours buddy. I can’t wait to get updates of you running your big back yard that you have to yourself, swimming in your very own pool, enjoying your giant beds that your new mom and dad bought for you, I mean did you see how he had the truck all setup for you buddy??? Complete with a truck hammock, dog beds, water bowl and all the snacks you could ever want, toys galore!!! I mean I want to go retire in Florida’s with you! I love you so much Gus, you were with me for such a long time that life seems empty without you but I promise this is the life we’ve been waiting for, the life you were destined to have. I was just a stop along the way for you to heal so that you would be 100% when we found your new home. I am so proud of you for the happy dog you’ve become and I can’t wait to watch you thrive in your new home. Go enjoy the sunshine and those boat rides buddy.” Vicki, thank you for all you have done for Gus. And congratulations Gus! Enjoy FL.
