ADOPTED

Lucy

12/18/2024

We have a special “adoptiversary” story to tell…

Lucy has been adopted by her foster family on the same day ONE YEAR AGO that they adopted Enzo!  A happy Adoptiversary!

Her mom Ashley said, “We had so much fun failing the first time, we figured why not do it again, one year to the day to be exact. December 16th will forever be our “Gotcha Day” x2. We started our journey with Enzo a year ago clueless about fostering a GSP, but I literally fell in love almost instantly. Enzo is a unique with a heart of gold, energy of a puppy at times, yet the soul of an old man who loves to nap. Given his history of poor health and temperament issues when he first came into rescue, we were convinced we’d be a one GSP household. That was until Kathy sent out an email needing fosters for 5.5 week old puppies.  Naturally, I sent my husband a text with a picture of the puppies thinking surely, he’d be the logical one and say no, but instead he immediately responded with “IN.” The rest was history and Hurricane Lucy took us, including Enzo by storm.

She’s every bit of GSP and I know we’re in so much trouble with this one but we wouldn’t trade it for the world. She may be tiny, for now, but man is she mighty. She’s a ladies’ man with her whole world evolving around Enzo and John. She’s a true Velcro dog, unlike Enzo, and does the most adorable spin move then body slams you right before she crashes hard in whatever crevice of your body she can find. She’s also currently finding her “barking” voice, is always running around with one ear flipped further displaying just how psycho she really is, points when she sleeps, and is in this awkward growth spurt where she looks like Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer with her long, lanky legs for days she uses to get in even more trouble. As crazy as it (aka Lucy) sounds, we can officially say she is here to stay and Enzo will forever share a piece of his Adoptiversary cake with her on December 16th.”

YAY congratulations everyone!
