Woody, “Woodford Reserve” has found his forever home – right where he is! His foster, now forever, mom Amy said, “When we were thinking about getting GSP everyone in the house decided that it would be a good idea to foster one first to learn about the breed while helping a pup who needed a home for a bit. When he came to us, Woody was scared to death by lots of things... loud noises, sudden movements, new people, stairs, even his harness and leash. He had a rough patch with his neutering surgery (all healed now) and just seemed to be so out of sorts at first. But we loved him through it, especially our adult son who lives and works at home and who has claimed him as "his dog". When we knew Woody was finally relaxed and happy we decided he needed to stay with us forever. He is a completely different guy than the broken boy we picked up. We do have plans to get some training help for leash and basic commands, but Woody is such a good boy for being less than a year old with an unknown past. He is vocal, and even sings sometimes. A total snuggler. Woody could not care less about small critters in the yard but is very interested in the deer we have around. He loves his walks and jogs. When he is older, he will be a great running companion for the runners in the house. And he is just so handsome. BTW, I foster with other rescues and this our first foster fail.
