We are very excited to announce the ‘foster fail’ of Honey. She was one of several puppies rescued from the hoarding situation in April. She was so infested with worms it has taken months to treat but we can say she is now happy, healthy and a worm-free girl. Morgan and her family had an adoption party for her this past weekend and it’s obvious Honey is super excited that her foster fail adoption is finally FINAL. That is, FOREVER! Congratulations Honey!
Domino (NC) has a new home (YAY), although his new name has yet to be decided! The Reno family was down a member of their pack and fortunately were hoping to add a black & white GSP and they succeeded. With two GSPs and a Weimaraner, the squirrels in Birmingham don’t stand a chance. Happy Tails Domino!
Nala has found her forever home! From her new mom, Ali, “Millie (formerly Nala) arrived home with us two days ago, and she won over our hearts instantly. When my husband and I saw Millie’s bio, we were so hopeful that we’d be the perfect family for her because she was everything we were looking for in a pup - smart, sweet, well-behaved, energetic, and snuggly. Millie has already adjusted so well to her new life with us and her puppy sister, Ryman. The two of them have played chase and tug of war for hours each day, and we think Millie has really liked having Ryman to show her the routine in our house and serve as a built-in best friend. We are so grateful to SEGSP Rescue and Millie’s foster family for taking such great care of her and for allowing us to bring this sweet little girl into our lives. She is the perfect addition to our family and we are so excited to help her grow into the happiest, most loved dog.” We are so happy for Millie! Hank has had a winding road in rescue, trying to find his perfect forever home. However, his luck has changed and we are so confident in his choice of forever homes with the Prince family. In fact, Hank met his new dad during a former transport and they hit it off so well, he never forgot Hank.
Hank’s new family is dedicated to giving him the attention and direction he needs to thrive. Hank has quite the GSP spirit and personality to match so really needed a family that could handle his unique challenges. Congratulations to Hank and the entire Prince family! And a special thank you to Kanupp Kennels in NC who fostered and trained Hank since we could not find a foster home for him – you all are wonderful! Georgia went about her “forever” plan in a different way than most GSPs. Her secret plan started with her foster GSP sibling Colt. It took a while, but Colt not only warmed up to Georgia, he now isn’t sure what he’d do without her. So…Colt lobbied and convinced his parents Vicky and Chris that they should adopt Georgia. Result: Georgia’s foster, now forever, family has officially joined the Foster Fail Club! Look at the photo of Colt thanking them – beautiful!
From Vicky, “It brings us a great deal of peace to know we will never have to worry about where Georgia is or how she's doing. Since she has arrived, she has always struck out on her own path, including heeling me while I do my normal farm chore routine. She has never found that patiently waiting by the gate for me to finish, like her k-9 sibling Colt does is much fun. She brings me a great deal of laughter and excitement with her fearless, tenacious, no nonsense, business with our livestock. She and Colt who are both a bit unsocial, have found a healthy balance and respect for each other, and pick up where the other leaves off now. She awaits Chris arrival home like a bouncy ball and has snuggled her way to his heart and on to the furniture lol. She compliments are family well and it’s hard to imagine life without her presence.” Congrats Georgia, Colt, Vicky and Chris! Gunther, now Rumble, did it – he found his home! Thank you so much to his foster dad Daniel who went above and beyond to find the right home for Rumble. In fact, he called this adoption a match made in heaven and we totally agree. After 4 months of heartworm treatment plus the time finding the “right” family, Rumble was so ready for this happy beginning.
Congratulations to Rumble and his new mom Brittany and family! |
