Koda, now named Jäger (on right), has found his forever home! We are so grateful to Jäger’s foster mom Claire for all she’s done for him, especially the work involved with finding the perfect home for him. Jäger now has a new brother Jack and sister Kahlua and is looking forward to a wonderful life with his new family. Even Kahlua, the ‘grouchy old lady dog’ accepted him, after he listened really well to her ‘corrections.’ Congrats to Jäger, Jack, Kahlua, Brianna and Nick!

Willow (NC) has found her forever home! She loves her canine sibling Jack (a 2012 SEGSP Alum) and it was a natural transition from foster family to forever family. Congratulations to Willow, Jack, and their mother Mason!
From Mason, “Willow Josephine Kelly is now officially part of the Kelly pack! Thanks Southeast GSP Rescue for all of the support and guidance with my second rescue! Willow is certainly not perfect but each day she is learning to trust people more thanks to CF box family @collegehillcollective and how to be a dog thanks to my #jackjack! One day at a time! Love being part of the journey!” “You never get the dog you want but you will always get the dog you need.” Congratulations to Chuck, Casey, Maeve, Trixie and canine sibling Tori on their adoption of Tucker Ryan yesterday. Tucker came from a South Carolina Shelter after being picked up as a stray. He was very unsure of himself when he first entered rescue but one thing he made clear was his love of water. Well…he got his happily every after with his own family swimming pool! Yay Tucker! A big thank you to Shelby for fostering this sweet boy. We know how much you loved him and the effort you put into finding him his perfect home.
Mollie Mae (aka Sassyfrassy) was adopted this afternoon to the Webb family. Congrats Mollie Mae! Her foster mom Shelby said it was bittersweet but knew she found her people when she jumped in the truck and didn’t look back. We cannot thank Shelby enough for everything she did for Sassy, and we know Sassy will be forever grateful for her. We can certainly tell by her new Chewy Vutton purse she will be happily spoiled. Congratulations to Shane, Rique and Reese on the new family addition.

Sam and Garrett brought Jimmy home on Sunday! According to his foster mom, Natalie, Jimmy will have a big back yard to run around in, a great front porch to sit on, and a new family that has experience working with dogs that are shy and anxious, like Jimmy. Jimmy is very excited that his new dad works from home so he’ll get lots of attention! Congratulations Sam and Garrett (and Jimmy!) and thank you Natalie, John, and their GSP Joe for fostering Jimmy, teaching him that there are great people in the world, and finding him the perfect home!

She is actively playing with her foster canine sibling Jagger and Lexi and is finally relaxing into her foster home routines. She is working on some separation anxiety and storm issues. From Shannon, “She’s a great dog!! And In saying that, this one is a foster fail!! We would like to adopt her. She’s a great fit for our family and we want her to live the rest of her years somewhere where she is happy and feels safe and loved.” Congratulations to Zoe and the Hampton family! Happy Birthday to our foster volunteer Natalie! Her present to herself is to adopt her foster dog Beau – YAAAAY! We’re not sure who we’re happier for, Natalie or Beau. It’s a perfect match and we know he adores her. Congrats Beau and Natalie – it’s a happy “birth/gotcha” day! #congrasbeauandnatalie #southeastgsp #segsp #gsprescue #gsp #gsplife #southeastgsprescue #segsprescue #rescue #akc #rescuedog #rescuedogsofinstagram #rescuedogsofig #fosterdogsofinstagram #rescueme #transport #gspoftheday #gspofinstagram #germanshorthairedpointer #dogsofinstagram #dogsofig #dogsofigram #cutedog #pointersofinstagram #birddog #birddogoftheday #birddogofinstagram Scout, in NC was adopted yesterday by Bryan and Christina Brochin. Congratulations Scout!!! As we can already tell he has settled in perfectly and looks so happy. Scout was very unsure of himself when he entered rescue and we can’t thank Debbie enough for being patient with him and helping him find his way. We'd also like to thank Michelle and Dewana for temp fostering Scout when he first entered rescue. We can’t wait to seem more updates of Scout in the future.
River, in NC, has found his forever home and has settled in perfectly with the Dinterman family. He already sleeps with his big human sister Kylee, loves playing with tennis balls in the backyard and going for long walks or runs. River has a nice mix of wildlife to stalk including birds, rabbits, and squirrels and also has a great selection of toys to choose from on a daily basis (what dog wouldn’t LOVE this house)!
From his new family, “Thanks to Tia (River's foster mom) for selecting us as River's new family. Tia will forever be Aunt Tia to River." Thank you Tia and congratulations to River and the Dinterman family – it’s a happy day! Lady, fostered in TN, has been sitting on a secret-she’s not going anywhere and she also has a new name, Sabine, and will be called Beans. From her former foster parents/new mom and dad, “Beans is a remarkable pup. We found SEGSP and thought fostering would be a great step before adopting. We both teared up at the video of Lady in the shelter - skin and bones but still wiggly and affectionate - and we knew we needed to help her.
Her first day, she showed how resilient she is. She was so loving, especially for a dog who’d just spent two months in kennels. She was pretty sick with giardia, double ear infections, had hot spots on both of her wrists, and was severely underweight. Plus, she was spayed the day before. But she made sure to tell us she loved us. Most importantly, she wasn’t especially concerned with our senior cats (Zoe, 17; Bigs, 14). She’s even licked Bigs a few times. She loves every person she meets and is adorably gentle with kids. She’s so very smart - she understands and learns commands on the second or third try, and she’s excited to show off her new tricks. Or maybe that’s just the treats she gets as rewards. She LOVES car rides and asks for at least one daily. She’s content to rest her head on the driver’s shoulder and give an occasional kiss on the cheek. We weren’t expecting to foster fail the very first time, but we knew almost immediately that she completed our little family. We are completely smitten with her.” And we are smitten with the Malloys. Thank you for taking such great care of our Lady/Beans. We couldn’t be happier for all of you! |
