Heidi has found her forever home! Congratulations Heidi and her new family, Yvette and Ross. And a HUGE thank you to Heidi’s foster parents Kim and Troy for all they’ve done to prepare Heidi for this day.
From her foster mom Kim, “Heidi packed her bag this morning and the exchange went flawlessly. Heidi jumped right in Ross and Yvette’s car like she knew she was going home. As you can see from the photos she is going to be a happy girl!!! Heidi is a beautiful pup and will be missed by all of my pack but we know she is going to be happy in her new home.” Heidi came to rescue after the death of her owner. She had a very sad adjustment but with the help of her foster family she’s happy again. Heidi is looking forward to lots of quality time and love with her new family... and we’re looking forward to hearing updates on sweet Heidi.

Cash went to his forever home yesterday. We had our meet and greet last week, and she is a perfect fit for him. He is already spoiled. Thanks to SEGSP for all the help. Thanks to Lauronda for giving him an excellent home, he is now a mountain dog. Excited to see what else his life has in store.
As always it’s tough to see them go. We know we made the right choice and are thankful for that. As for Cash, you came at the right time. Our family had an unexpected loss of a family member the week before you joined us. You were perfect for helping us cope and heal along the way. Enjoy your new family, I know you will bring them as much joy as you did us. Congratulations Bria and the Weisenborns! Welcome to your forever home. After her meet and greet, Bria just KNEW this was the perfect family for her. Her humans said it was love at first sight. She'll no doubt be spoiled and loved by her new family. We think the pictures speak for themselves. The girls wrote the sweetest thank you note to Kate and her family for "keeping Bria alive and taking care of her." and even brought doggo canoli for Bria's foster brother. We at SEGSP Rescue thank you also. We can't do this without our volunteers and it's definitely not always easy taking care of a young GSP!
A huge Congratulations to Woody (aka Wardlow) and the Braumuller family. Woody came into rescue after being quarantined for 4 months due to having multiple bites of unknown origins on him. Allen and Janet Horrex opened their home to him and got him socialized and happy again. We can already see his new canine sibling Tukker and him are best buds! Can’t wait to see what the future holds for Woody.
After searching, reviewing several applications and interviewing some great families, Boone has made his decision. Although everyone was great, he would prefer to stay with his foster mom and she feels the same. They have been working so hard on off-leash training and Boone has been doing great – and his recall is close to perfect. All that training and time in rescue helped him bond and fall in love. And we couldn’t be happier – although his GSP foster sister may take a bit to warm up to the idea LOL! Congratulations to Boone, his new mom Morgan and her family!
Little Timothy in GA (now named Rush) has some big news -- he found his forever home! When Rush came to us with a fractured pelvis back in April, he probably never dreamed that within just a few months, he'd be all healed and frolicking by the pool with a forever family of his own, including two canine siblings! Congratulations, Lisa and Phil, and a big thank you to first-time fosterer, Aisha, for helping this sweet boy through his healing process and on to his perfect forever home!
It takes a special kind of angel to adopt a dog with special medical needs, and sweet Trigger in GA found two — plus an adorable Vizsla sister, Ruby — when he chose his forever home. Trigger’s seizures are still not yet as well managed as we had hoped, but his new family said, “challenge accepted!” and lovingly welcomed him into their home. Also, Ruby was quick to greet Trigger with much wiggle-butting and showing off her toys, and Trigger was perfectly content to accept Ruby as his boss and follow her lead. Congratulations to Trigger and the Hopton family — we couldn’t have hoped for better in his journey toward better health and his best life.
And a humongous thank you to our GA State Coordinator Cathy for fostering this sweet boy and finding the perfect home for him! Trigger is truly a lucky boy! Littermates Trigger and Gauge have some exciting news! They have chosen their forever home, and it’s right with their foster dad, Wes. When their former foster went on vacation, Wes jumped in, fell in love and the rest is history. It was a perfect match. From their new dad, Wes, “Since having the boys for a little more than 2 weeks, they have fit in so well with everything and everyone. I adore them and can’t wait to give them a great home and great love for the rest of their lives. I am very grateful and honored to be chosen as the new home and dog dad for these boys.”
And a huge thank you to their former foster parents Ellen and Charles for preparing them for this day. Wes, we are grateful for you and we know these sweet boys are, too! We can’t wait to share updates on their new life with you! Congratulations all around! Cooper, in NC, has found his forever home! His new family is making a slight change to the spelling of his name to “Kooper”.
Congratulations to Cooper, now Kooper, and his new family! Kooper is now on to plenty of fantastic adventures with his two new canine sisters and his new parents. He has already been swimming in the ocean, taken a boat ride and visited friends and family for the July 4th holiday. A life on the water is an amazing life for a young GSP. We can’t wait to hear about all of his adventures! Congratulations again to Brian, Heather and Kooper We have exciting news!!! Hanz, who was surrendered to SEGSP after his owner passed away, is officially a foster fail and has found his forever family.
From his mom: Our GSP Harry passed away in February this year. He was 13 years old. When he passed, there was a void on our farm that we knew we needed to fill. I contacted Kanupp Kennels to get their opinion on what kind of dog to look for. Marty immediately said I needed to meet Hanz. We fell in love at once! I decided to take him home and foster him and It didn’t take long to figure out Hanz wasn’t going anywhere. He is so sweet and well mannered. He completed lots of training with Kanupp Kennels and is doing great at our goat farm here in North Carolina. He especially likes swimming with his new buddy Grayson, our son. He loves his morning walks in the fields and spends a lot of time rolling around in the tall grass. He’s even beginning to make some new goat buddy friends this week! We couldn’t be happier that Hanz has found a happy ending with the Grindstaff family. What great news! |
