In memory of Sadie…
Sadie came to rescue in 2009 after being thrown from a truck in the NC mountains and a good Samaritan stopped, picked her up and contacted SEGSP. She was our board member Lauren’s first foster dog and she flourished with Lauren and Dan’s gentle guidance. She went through entropion eyelid surgery, was skin and bones, and was terrified of everything, but wagged her tail constantly and had a silly habit of sticking her nose to the bottom of a full water bowl and snorkel to drink. They found the perfect family for her and Sadie was adopted by the Bleiberg family and loved for twelve beautiful years. In 2020 they discovered swollen lymph notes and sadly a biopsy confirmed she had lymphoma. After a round of chemo it returned and after her quality of life started to deteriorate, and after much agonizing, they let her cross to the Rainbow Bridge in January. From her family: Sadie was an absolute love. She was skin and bones and afraid of her own shadow when she came into our lives. My hope is that we gave her as much love and happiness as she gave us. Thank you so much for all that your organization does. Run pain free sweet Sadie… |
