Georgie Lu’s (formerly Lucy)

3/28/2025

Georgie Lu’s (formerly Lucy) new mom Jennifer reports that they love having Georgie Lu, as part of their family. While her life before she arrived at her foster family was rough, she really is the sweetest cuddle bug. She loves to give kisses and snuggles and just curl up on your lap (or other places!) to sleep. She is becoming fast friends with her new sister Gracie. They love to chase each other around the yard and play tug of war. Gracie is also teaching her to be a master lizard hunter. She has a new friend that lets her come over for play dates to run around the pasture, and she is a big fan of pup cup runs. Recently, they started obedience training and Georgie Lu rocked the Fast Cat (Coursing Ability Test) - a timed 100-yard dash where dogs run one at a time chasing a lure. She absolutely loved it and was a natural! They had been looking for an addition to their family for quite a while and are so grateful to have Georgie Lu as she fits in just perfectly! #success #segsprescue #gsp

Oreo

3/28/2025

Oreo’s new family Dale and Jay said, “Oreo is doing well, and we are each getting more used to one another as the days go by. It's hard to believe she has been here almost two months. She is a joy to have around. We didn't realize how much we've missed a dog in our house!  She turned 1 last month, loves her morning runs, after lunch naps, going for rides in the Trailblazer. playing ball and zoomies. We are amazed at how fast she can run! She is still a bit skittish due to her rough beginning, but she is very loving and trusts us a little more every day. The good news is Oreo has found her forever home!”

Congratulations everyone – it’s a very happy day!

Moose AKA Indy

3/15/2025

Courtesy listing success! Moose, now Indy, is doing great according to her new mom Madison. She likes her new name and answers to it well. Her new brother Finn has definitely adopted the big brother role. She likes to be touching him when they nap! And he is OK with her stepping all over him. They have started playing a ton! She’s a little princess and loves being cozy. She also loves to sit and look out the front window so she doesn’t miss anything and she’s picked up the habit of jumping over the porch rail instead of using the stairs. Her first vet appointment with the vet went well! He says she is very healthy and calls her a petite little girl. Next up is her spay and hernia repair which are scheduled soon.

Lady

3/1/2025

Another SEGSP courtesy listing success story… Lady, in NC has found her forever home!

Lady’s new mom Caroline reports, “Since we’ve had Lady, she’s had many adventures! She’s been hiking with other dogs; she’s been hunting, and she loves playing hide and seek with anyone. Lady loves other dogs that will match her energy; she will play for hours on end. She is the best companion we could’ve ever asked for in a million years.”

Congrats to the Peppers family and Lady! You can see all of courtesy listings and courtesy success stories on our website at https://www.segsprescue.org/other-dogs-to-adopt-courtesy-posts

Alice

Remember Alice from our website courtesy page who was looking for a forever home since July of last year? Well, Alice found her home and is being treated like a queen by Donna and Gary.

Donna said, “Alice has become a very spoiled girl and gets verbal with us when she doesn't get what she wants!! (which is nonstop attention and food ) Overall, she is a fairly healthy "11" year old girl. Being that she hadn’t ever been to the vet, we started off cautiously. She was tested for heartworms (negative, thank goodness!), she got her rabies shot and a distemper shot. We are trying to "inject" her with meds gradually in case she has a reaction being that she has never had any of them before. Also, she’s started heartworm preventative. She is doing great other than her constant itching/scratching and biting. Looks like she is allergic to fleas… She feels right at home and barks (at who knows what!!) almost every time she goes outside. She loves exploring in our backyard. She also loves her walks and now that we know she doesn't have heartworms, we take her out on longer ones. She loves her mealtimes and is at our dinner table begging for ours!! She is becoming your typical Velcro GSP....she waits faithfully outside the bathroom for whoever is in there and won't come upstairs to bed unless we all go up together!! She lays at my feet in the kitchen (maybe that has something to do with the food!!) If I try hard, I can get her to get excited to play for a few minutes, but mostly she is a very chilled girl!”

Alice and her new family have a second home in Maryland that they visit frequently making it a match made in heaven as Alice loves to ride in the car! Congratulations everyone – we are so very happy for Alice. If you are looking for a furry family member, please check out our website courtesy page at  https://www.segsprescue.org/other-dogs-to-adopt-courtesy-posts
