Molly (NC, 8 yo) is looking like a true “snuggle bug” and “shadow” according to her foster mom Susan. Here is her full update on this pretty gal…
“She loves everyone and is enjoying being part of a pack. She is learning what toys and bones are all about and that “sisters” are good playmates. She loves to hunt critters and to go for walks; although, we are still learning how to walk on a leash especially when critters tease her. She enjoys hanging out watching TV or sitting by her foster mom while she works. She is also happy hanging out in her kennel for some downtime or nighttime. Her favorite time of the day is dinner time and snuggle time. She will do anything for a treat especially if it has peanut butter on it. She wants to be by your side at all times because she thinks she might miss out on something. Molly will be having surgery on June 23rd to remove a few mammary tumors but is looking forward to having them gone.” Thank you so much Susan. Molly is Susan’s 6th GSP she has fostered for SEGSP (with 2 beautiful foster fails). Molly will need some recovery time after her surgery before she’s ready for adoption. #GSPsnugglebug #GSPshadow #GSP #NC Waylon (NC, 2 yo) is done with his nasty ear infection so is healthy enough to be neutered… today. Please send Waylon your prayers and well wishes.
Once Waylon is done with this last step, he’ll be ready to search for his forever home. Thank you so much Jennifer for fostering Waylon and helping him along his journey. #PrayersForWaylon #GSPcommunity #WellWishesForWaylon #NC Socks (NC, 1 yo) doesn’t really like his name, so his foster dad Harry has given him a nickname, Snickers, that he likes much better.
Harry said, “He has learned "sit" but can be stubborn. He still gets VERY excited which can make him hard to control. I use a strong leash and a sturdy padded harness because he's strong. Walks ok on the leash once he calms down a little. Still needs work on that. Very good in the crate. He plays ROUGH. I don't recommend him being around little kids. He’s not mean he just doesn’t realize how strong he is. He loves his toys, especially his blanket. Housebroken, but could possibly make a mistake especially in a new environment. Must be kept on leash if not contained in a yard. Good with strangers and other dogs. Overall, he’s coming along and just needs to mature as he gets older.” Thank you so much Harry for all you’re doing for Snickers and helping him along his rescue journey. Snickers is healthy and neutered, so he is close to being ready to start his forever home search… he just needs a tiny bit more training. #NC We received this awesome update on Drake (NC, 13 yo) from his foster mom, Jackie. She said, “He’s a doll, the sweetest little old man. He finally has an appetite, and we checked in at the vet last week; he’s gained two pounds - up to 56!
He’s already learned our routine and it’s as if he’s been here forever. If I’m being honest, I knew the second I picked him up, but I didn’t want to make hasty or emotional decisions. We had a family meeting, including the cat, and we’d like him to stay with us permanently. We are just waiting to make it official…” Whoo hoo – we can’t wait for the official announcement! #NC Boone Update – Living His Best Foster Life in NC! Boone is thriving in foster care and making the most of every moment! He’s halfway through his heartworm treatment and doing great — his appetite is back, and he’s steadily gaining weight and filling out. This goofy, lovable guy adores squeaky toys, long outdoor adventures, and car rides. Whether he’s roaming the farm, chilling at the beach, or showing off his perfect heel on a tone, Boone is always up for an adventure. He’s also a total sweetheart — friendly with new people and pups, and happiest when he’s snuggled up with his foster family (especially his GSP foster brother!). Boone’s joy is contagious, and it’s clear he’s going to make an incredible companion for the lucky family who adopts him. Stay tuned for more updates on Boone — or better yet, consider giving this beach-loving, cuddle-ready boy a forever home in a few weeks!
#nc Cash (NC), who came to rescue emaciated with Parvo, is thankfully doing well. His foster dad Drew said he is very active outside, so his weight gain is slower but overall improving. He still has a high food drive and is learning not to take his foster canine sibling's treats. But that is to be expected considering how emaciated he was.
Thank you Drew for fostering Cash and helping him gain his strength and learn all about love. And thank you again to all the Cash fans who donated towards his care! #CashUpdate #SEGSPrescue #GSPactive #NC Boone Update! Boone has officially started his pancreatic enzyme and is doing really well—he’s up to 52 lbs and eating like a champ! He’s feeling great, enjoying the outdoors, and learning quickly with his tone collar. We’re holding off on starting doxy for heartworm until he’s had a full month of no symptoms and steady weight gain. Boone’s such a sweet boy—he loves to snuggle up and lean all his weight on you. We’re on a great path, and things are really looking up for him!
#nc Another update on Cash (NC), our emaciated boy who went to the ER with Parvo and vomiting on April 1 (not an April Fool’s joke) …
His foster dad Drew said, “For the past 2 days, he has eaten every meal. We are working on getting his stool firmer with carrots and pumpkin and he seems to enjoy those treats with his food. He got over the fear of the doggie door, and that has stopped any messes in the house. He appears to be back to his weight when I got him. He still has the food drive, but now we are working on commands and keeping him off the counters. I feel comfortable saying we are almost back to solid ground health wise for him.” YAY Cash! We can’t thank Drew enough for his dedication to helping Cash through this crisis. We have no doubt, especially seeing these photos, that Cash is on his way to a healthy and very happy life #nc We have an update on our emaciated boy Cash (NC) after going to the ER last weekend with Parvo and vomiting…
Cash is hanging in there and is still not eating very much and is dehydrated. He hasn’t thrown up since returning from the ER Vet last week but hasn’t shown any interest in food unfortunately. We think he might need to be seen again at the ER for fluids so we’re monitoring that closely. Please pray for this little guy. Also, thank you to each and every one of you who donated towards his care and prayed for his recovery. We appreciate it so much and so does sweet cash. #nc Welcome to SEGSP Molly (NC). This beautiful 8-year-old GSP came into rescue over the weekend. She surrendered and although her family loved her very much, they wanted a better life for her.
Her foster mom Susan said, “She did so good on the car ride!!! She and my pups hit it off immediately and her and Sophie (11 yrs old) are settling in nicely. Everyone ran around the backyard for a bit and Molly jumped right in the pool! Thanks again Jo and Mike for helping me get her.FYI she is already bonding with my husband too.” We are excited for Molly to start her rescue journey. She is spayed and UTD on vaccines. A huge thank you to Joe for getting Molly to her foster home and for Susan who met halfway to pick her up. #NC |
