Jo (GA, 1yr old) foster dog news

Jo (GA, 1 yo) has been through her 4-month heartworm treatment but sadly hasn’t tested negative yet so she will be in rescue for at least another month while she continues to heal.

It was also discovered during her treatment that her spay incision was infected.  She had laser treatment on the area and she may need another round to fully heal.  And if that wasn’t enough bad news, she also has developed a small bump on her tail that’s been bothering her, so she’s headed back to the vet to have that examined as well.

Her foster mom Melissa said, “Overall, she continues to grow more confident and secure. She’s doing better on the leash, playing more with other dogs, kids, and even the cat! I’ll keep you posted on her progress.”

Thank you, Melissa – you are Jo’s best friend and protector!  Thank you also to Jo’s temp foster volunteers, Benito and Bethany, who took care of Jo for a month while the GA team searched for a foster home while she went through treatment.
