💖 Foster Update: Sweet Maggie 💖
Our girl Maggie (5 years old, GA)  has come such a long way since being picked up as a stray in early July! After finishing her Doxycycline and receiving her heartworm injections in August, she’s been healing beautifully — up nine pounds and feeling so much stronger! 💪
Maggie’s had a few little bumps along the way (a tummy skin infection and some post-treatment licking that earned her a cute striped bodysuit 🩷), but she’s doing great and on track for her next vet visit on November 6th for her heartworm recheck.
At just 40 pounds, this petite powerhouse holds her own with her foster brother Gus (a 2020 SEGSP alum!) — stealing toys, nipping playfully at his heels, and keeping everyone entertained. She’s even learning to respect the cats… mostly. 😅
Now that she’s cleared for activity, Maggie loves being outside and off leash. She comes when called (eventually 😉) and plays beautifully with other dogs.
She’s also making huge progress with training — sleeping quietly in her crate at night, settling while her humans eat, and learning better leash manners every day. She’s still working on curbing her nibbles and channeling that GSP energy, but her foster family says she’s smart, affectionate, and eager to please.
