Mo (SC) foster dog news

Moe - now lovingly called Penny in SC - is officially through her last round of heartworm treatments this week!  Her foster mom, Shelley, shared this sweet update: “She is doing great! She had her second heartworm treatment today and will finish her third tomorrow. She’s such a champ. She even traveled with us to WV over Thanksgiving and did beautifully. She’s the gentlest girl who just loves love. I’m not sure my family is going to give this girl up. My girls call her Penny.”

Moe’s journey hasn’t been an easy one. She came to us after being seized from a backyard where she was found tied to a pole with no shelter, food, or water. She was severely emaciated with a body condition score of just 1 out of 9, and she also tested positive for heartworms.

Thanks to Shelley and her amazing family, Moe has been shown love, safety, and comfort -  and wow, is she one lucky girl. Just look at these photos… you can practically smell the joy!

Moe will spend the next month resting and recovering from her final treatments, and then she’ll be ready to begin (or maybe announce ) her search for her forever home.
