Stella, aka Annie (NC, 5 yo) foster dog news

Stella, aka Annie (NC, 5 yo), is an adorable little bundle of energy.  Her foster dad Erik sent us this update:
 
“We are having so much fun with this little pocket pointer!  Annie (formerly Stella) is now 35lbs and no more than 5 years old per Marsh Vet.  She is now housebroken, crate trained, is learning basic commands, knows her name and loves her daily walks. Just this past week Annie found the joy of toys (not a defluffer per se but clearly moves about two dozen of them around the house each day) and loves to drop them all on our bed in the morning.  We also just heard her bark for the first time since we’ve had her - almost a month!  She barked at the handyman of all things.  
 
She is so sweet and very affectionate and will seek out attention (Velcro dog for sure).  She is also a wiggle butt, and her tail has not stopped wagging.  She just learned to use the doggie door and is e-collared trained.  She is very smart and eager to learn and very food motivated.  She has a high prey drive for squirrels and lizards but not deer.  She has bonded with both our resident pups (Grant the Lab and Nola the GSP) and follows their queues for what to do!  Oh and did we mention she snores - super cute!”   
 
Unfortunately, Stella is heartworm positive and has a couple more months of treatment left before she’s ready for adoption.  She will be receiving her first heartworm treatment injection on December 29th.
 
THANK YOU to her wonderful foster family, Erik and Carla.  Stella is their 6th SEGSP foster dog and maybe, just maybe, their 2nd foster fail?  We are so very thankful for all they’ve done for our rescue!
