Please help us welcome Stella into rescue! 🌟

(Though her foster family lovingly calls her Pipsqueak — and Carla is leaning toward Little Orphan Annie!)

Stella arrived on Saturday and has been nothing but a sweet little spark of joy. She sleeps through the night (hallelujah!), is incredibly inquisitive, and is already showing her gentle nature. She’s doing wonderfully with her foster siblings — no aggression, just a little resource protection over marrow bones, but absolutely no issues with food or people. She’s slowly starting to engage and learn the ropes of family life.

Stella came to us not knowing much, so her foster family is teaching her all the basics: sit, stay, and even a new name, since “Stella” doesn’t seem to register with her yet. She’s not a de-fluffer, but she is a toy hider — especially bones, which she loves to tuck into the corners of the couch. At just 31 lbs and a full-on Velcro pup, she becomes a lap fixture the moment someone sits down.

She’s not fully house-trained yet, but she’s already going to the front door both times she needed out, so we’re hopeful she’s quickly learning to communicate her cues. She’s enjoying daily walks (nice easy 5Ks — no running!) and soaking up every hug and ear scratch she can get. Honestly, her tail has barely stopped wagging since she arrived. A very big thank you to Carla and Erik for taking this sweet girl in and giving her the chance she needed. Stella is HW positive and will need a few months in rescue before being available for adoption.

We’re so excited for this little girl’s new beginning. Welcome to rescue, sweet Stella! ❤️🐾
