Birdie (TN) - Foster Dog News

Please help us welcome beautiful Birdie to SEGSP Rescue! ❤️

Birdie was found as a stray about a month ago, and when no one came forward to claim her, the Good Samaritan caring for her reached out to us for help. This petite 36-pound girl is heartworm negative, was spayed this morning, and is healthy, active and ready for her next chapter!

We think Birdie is around 8 years old, and one thing is already very clear — she LOVES people! Her foster mom, Kristen, says Birdie walks nicely with her GSP foster brother, Bam, and wants to greet every person she sees. She’s also getting along great with Bam and has done well with other dogs and a cat, although she needs to eat separately.

Birdie came into foster care knowing pretty much zero commands, but she’s a quick learner! She’s already mastered “lie down,” “come” and “crate” and even heads to her crate at mealtime to wait for Kristen. She sleeps in her crate at night and would love a home where she has room to run, play and soak up plenty of attention.

A huge thank you to Kristen for taking such wonderful care of this sweet girl, and to Beverly, George and Mariah for helping with her transport. Extra thanks to Mariah for temp fostering Birdie while Kristen was traveling. It truly takes a village!

Birdie will spend another couple of weeks in foster care while we get to know her, and then she’ll be looking for her forever home.

Stay tuned — we think this little girl is going to have quite a fan club! ❤️
