Foster Cody (NC) Update from his foster mom Vicki…
 
After some very strong and persistent demands from Cody, he was finally granted a small amount of leeway outside. Let’s be honest… the poor guy is getting extremely bored with this kennel-and-no-fun lifestyle he has found himself living during heartworm treatment.
 
Since Cody goes in next week for his first heartworm injection, we decided he could enjoy a little bit of yard time before the very strict rest period begins. So he was allowed to proudly carry his ball and his stuffy around the yard like the very important treasures they are.
 
However… there was one catch.  No fetch.  Cody did not quite understand the point of being allowed to carry a ball if the human was not going to throw it for maximum enjoyment. The concept seemed highly suspicious and possibly a violation of the GSP Constitution.  But despite the confusing rules, he happily strutted around the yard showing off his prized possessions and soaking up a little bit of fun before the next stage of treatment begins.
 
Next week starts the serious rest phase, so we’re letting him enjoy these small moments while we can.
 
Hang in there, buddy. Freedom (and fetch) will come again.
