Meet Dexter Jettster (aka Dennis, NC) 🐾

Foster mom Jennifer here! Let me introduce you to Dexter Jettster, named after Obi-Wan Kenobi’s good friend and every bit as memorable as his namesake. ⭐️

Dexter is an approximately 2-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer who is basically the definition of a GSP. He’s energetic, adventurous, smart, and always ready for his next mission. Car rides? Yes! Exploring? Absolutely! Birdwatching? Sign him up! And after all that activity, Dexter is happy to settle in and relax.

He LOVES everyone he meets, including kids, new people, other dogs, and even cats. He’s a total cuddle bug who may gently rest his head in your lap when he needs a little extra love. He likes being near his people without needing to be attached to them 24/7.

And Dexter has a hilarious hobby: carrying things. Literally anything he can pick up becomes his prized possession. The good news? He carries, but doesn’t chew or destroy!

Dexter is housebroken, loves his crate, and knows several commands including sit, stay/whoa, off, get down, give, and come. He’s working on lay down and taking treats gently. He’s eager to please and LOVES having a job.

Like many GSPs, he’s enthusiastic on leash, so his leash manners are still a work in progress. His perfect home would be an active family with a securely fenced yard and, ideally, someone who understands sporting breeds and can appreciate Dexter’s energy, intelligence, and need for activity and purpose.

Dexter is affectionate, adventurous, entertaining, and one very good boy. 💙 He’s ready for a family who will give him the love, structure, exercise, and adventures he’s looking for.
