Duke (MS) - Foster Dog News

​Welcome and prayers/well-wishes to rescue Duke (MS, 8 yo, 56 lbs.) who goes in this morning for his neuter!  And GREAT news – he’s heartworm negative!  The Vet said his heart and lungs sound good, started him on prednisone for some skin issues (possibly allergies), and he has hookworms so he’s on a dewormer. Duke is also missing a couple top teeth and bottom ones are worn down but that could be from chewing at his skin and doesn’t affect his eating.  

He’s continuing to do well here with his foster family.  His foster mom Stephanie said, “We went for a walk yesterday on a long lead and he has very good recall. He knows basic commands like sit and come so that is great.  He slept again like a champ in the crate. We will be working on potty training. Still some growling at times by him and my girl dog Callie but so far so good. He’s even seen our cat and did fine.”

Thank you so much Stephanie and Phil… Duke is their 10th foster dog for SEGSP!! WOW! We have awesome volunteers!
