Gambler (NC) - Foster Dog News

Welcome to rescue Gambler (NC)!  This sweet young guy has officially started his rescue journey...

A HUGE thank you to Shelley and her family for opening their home and hearts to Gambler and giving this handsome boy the safe place he needed. Because of them, Gambler now has a chance at the happy, healthy life he deserves.

Gambler is estimated to be around 6–9 months old and is a little on the thin side, but his coat is in good condition. He’s settling in beautifully and already showing everyone what a sweet, cooperative boy he is.

He’s currently taking doxycycline as a precaution after the shelter noted some congestion. So far, he’s had only an occasional sneeze and no signs of kennel cough. He’s eating well and will be monitored closely as he settles in and starts putting on some weight.

And what a good boy he has been! Shelley reports:  “He slept in his crate last night, whined a little, but settled down quickly. He happily allowed a bath this morning - he was quite smelly!  And he even let us trim his nails after watching Brooks and Penny get theirs done.

He’s doing great with going outside and has only had one excited accident in the house. He’s happy to walk on leash, loves being outside, and is already beginning to learn the routines of his new life.”

This boy is just getting started, and we can’t wait to watch him blossom.  Welcome to rescue, Gambler. Your past is behind you, and your best days are ahead.

Thank you again to Shelley and her family for being the first step in Gambler’s rescue journey. It takes a village, and we are so grateful they chose to be part of his.
