Happy (aka Ollie, NC) - Foster Dog News

Welcome to SEGSP Rescue, Happy (aka Ollie, NC) !  This sweet 2-year-old, 42 lb boy has already been through more than most. Happy came to us from a shelter after being hit by a car, in need of urgent medical care.
Medical Update: Happy is heartworm negative and currently on the road to recovery. He has large healing wounds and a left hind limb lameness. Radiographs revealed a complete medially displaced fracture of the left ilium along with pelvic fractures. The good news… after evaluation, exam under sedation and a Cat scan, surgery isn’t needed (YAY). His injuries had already started healing, and while he may have a slight limp, the expectation is a full recovery.
Happy will be on strict crate rest for 6 weeks, and thanks to his amazing foster mom, Tracey, he’ll also be getting red light therapy treatments a few times a week to help speed up healing. 
Tracey says it best: “I love him so much.” Happy is exactly what his name suggests… incredibly sweet, friendly, and full of love. He has zero dog aggression, zero food aggression, and just wants to be close to his people. He’s taking everything in stride and soaking up all the care and comfort he can get.
A HUGE thank you to Alicia for stepping up to transport Happy from the shelter and getting him safely to Tracey for immediate ER care. It truly takes a village. We can’t wait to watch this resilient boy continue to heal and eventually run and play the way he deserves. Welcome to the good life, Happy—you’re safe now.
