Scout (AL, 4 months old) foster dog news

Scout, our 4-month-old pup in AL, had a weekend getaway with volunteers Avril and Ben while his foster family took a short trip. And he had a blast with their GSP, Ozzie (with Scout looking in the rocks for a lizard).  Daniel said, “Hey this worked out so well! Avril and her husband, Ben, were so helpful with Scout. He’s gonna go back to their house over Labor Day weekend. I think he did really well there so that’s also a good indication that he’s gonna adjust wherever he lands.”

Scout continues to keep Mabel and Katie on their toes — but he's picking up training fast:

• Housetrained like a pro — sleeps through the night in his kennel, zero accidents
• Doggy door savvy — learned it within days
• Decent recall already for such a young pup
• Knows "kennel" and heads in on command most of the time.
• Working on "sit" and catching on quickly

Scout needs at least a few more weeks in rescue to evaluate his temperament and to work on basic training before he’s ready for adoption. Thank you, Daniel, for all you’re doing for Scout!
