Hey partner! I am Cowboy. I am 3 and a half years old, and I have been with my foster family for about a month. Thankfully, they have helped me gain some weight and feel safe, so I’m now ready to search for my forever partners.

I am a very handsome boy (I’m not vain, just telling you like it is) weighing about 50 or so pounds and average height. I am very loving and would like to always be near my people when they are home. I get along well with other dogs and enjoy some rough and tumble with them – so no wimpy siblings for me. I am around cats, but I do think about them ALOT and would like to get to know them better - my foster mom isn’t sure that is such a good idea.

I love birds! My favorite thing to do is sit in the backyard and stare at the trees, looking for them. Sometimes, when I see one fly off, I attempt to fly after it by jumping right over the 6-foot privacy fence. I also escaped the tall kennel at the vet once, to their surprise, so a backyard kennel won’t hold me either. So, my future family will have to have a way to keep me contained (a very tall fence and there are some fence toppers that might help as well) and be willing to teach me boundaries (I’m smart so training would be great).
I chill in the house while my foster family is gone and enjoy some peace and quiet. I do get two walks a day and supervised outside time, and this helps get my energy out. I have learned to play with toys, eat out of a puzzle feeder, and solve puzzle toys for treats. I am terrified of the crate. I would prefer not to ever have to go in one again. When I came into foster care, I wasn’t really sure I would ever eat regular meals again, so I am still on the lookout for food to sneak just in case, so it is best not to leave anything that smells like food or is in an easy to open bin out for me to find. I am fearful of loud noises (don’t tell my dog friends) and run behind my foster family if I hear one to feel safe, so I would not make a good hunting dog. Yeah, I know, looks are deceiving; I am a lover, not a hunter.

If you are interested in knowing more about me, please fill out theAdoption Application (if you haven’t already), and you can contact my foster mom at [email protected].
Are you my person? I sure hope so!  Oh, and one more thing, my adoption fee is $375.  Hope to see you soon.
