Hi there, my name is Heidi and you are not going to believe what happened to me! My foster mom Beth says that sometimes the strangest things happen in rescue. See, my owner SURRENDERED me to the shelter! Can you believe it? I’m only 10 years old (but don’t tell because it’s not polite to talk about a lady’s age) … Do I look 10 to you? I don’t think I do, and everyone says I don’t act my age. I’m only about 45 pounds (but again, don’t talk about weight with ladies either), I only mention that because I’m on the small side which is great if you don’t want some big old bruiser of a boy.
I’m housebroken, crate trained, know how to use a doggie door, know how to sit and lots of other basic commands. I’ll even let you Dremel my nails. I love to EAT and play with my 5-year-old GSP foster brother as well as snuggle close when it’s quiet time. One of my favorite things is being on critter patrol in the yard so a fenced in yard is a must – I’m not real picky so probably no homes with cats, birds or small dogs should apply – if they run or fly away – they might be too tempting for me to chase. There was a small mention of me killing some chickens when my owner surrendered me but…aren’t I a bird dog?
I do believe in being the queen, so I will need a forever home who isn’t afraid to make me behave – I will try to see what I can get away with – I tried to pretend that I didn’t know how to get in a crate to see if I could get lots of cookies to do it – my foster mom didn’t fall for it – she told me this wasn’t her first rodeo. She still gives me cookies but only as a reward for behavior occasionally, not as an all-the-time thing. I’ve been so good that I now get to sleep loose in the house – I sleep on the dog bed beside their bed every night and don’t move until the alarm goes off.
So, if you think you might like to know a little more about me and see if my foster mom thinks your family would be a good fit for me, fill out an adoption application (if you haven’t already) and send an email to my foster mom, Beth. In your email, tell my foster mom why you think I might be the perfect fit for your family. As awesome as I am, she knows she’s going to have to weed through a lot of applications and she’d like to know more about your family too.
Oh, I forgot to mention, because of my age, my adoption fee is only $187.50 – SUCH A DEAL for all this awesomeness!
