Reviewing Applications

Hi, Nash here, I'm currently in Alabama and looking for my forever home. I am somewhere between 2 and 3 years old and between 55-60 pounds.

My foster mom says I am pretty laid back for a GSP. Usually while my foster brothers are out running and playing, I am on the porch napping next to my foster mom…I like to take a lot of naps with her – and having her near me is preferred.

I do enjoy hunting bugs and lizards and when doing so I usually tune everything out around me, including my foster mom. I do get the zoomies from time to time, will play a couple of rounds of fetch, and sometimes chase my foster brothers around the yard. I love to groom my foster brother Oakley and do so constantly. He enjoys it so much he usually lies down and lets me nibble away.

My foster mom really encourages me to be active but I like it best when I can relax and watch tv. Oh and I love food…A LOT, so I will need measured servings twice per day to maintain a healthy weight. I get along great with big dogs and have done well with my Italian Greyhound foster sister as well. She is old and grumpy so I usually keep my distance. I haven’t been around cats but because of my history with chickens my foster mom doesn’t think I will do so great.

I walk pretty good on a leash unless something really catches my attention, I know how to sit, and "Down" is a constant work in progress. When I first came into rescue, I had zero house manners because I previously lived outdoors. I was a bit wild in the house and would climb on tables, and constantly jump on doors and walls. I have greatly improved and prefer being indoors, so this is a must.  My foster parents have worked really hard to help me do better but I will need someone who is patient with me and will remind me.

I do well in my crate but would like someone who is home a lot to spend time with me. I wouldn’t mind a friend to play with (and groom), and will need a big fenced in yard preferably at least 6 feet tall. I also do pretty well in the car. I usually get a super excited for the first few minutes and then settle down. One of my favorite things to do every day is spend time in my room with my foster mom before bed playing with my treat toys and bones.

Oh, and I almost forgot, I’m vetted, temperament tested and really handsome, so my adoption fee is $ 375.
