I’m an almost 2 year old male GSP with lots of energy! I am super sweet and sooooo handsome (at least that’s what people tell me everywhere I go).  My first family had lots of human kids to take care of so they surrendered me to Rescue so I could get the time and attention that I deserve. I know sit, wait (at the door), come and settle.   I’m curious about everything so although I may put my paws on the counter to check out what’s up there, I don’t counter surf.

I’m potty trained and I do really well in my crate at night. My foster mom keeps me pretty busy during the day which keeps me out of trouble. Otherwise, if I am bored I will look for soft items like socks and plush toys to nibble on.  I don’t however care to be left alone in my crate when my people aren’t around and will shred anything left in the crate with me.  So a family that is home most of the time or can take me places with them would be best.
I take treats very gently and eat nice and slowly.  I don’t bark much (only when super excited), but I do whine and whimper when I’m hungry and when my people aren’t around.  I’m calm when meeting new people and don’t jump up.

I am interested but somewhat aloof when meeting new dogs.  Unfortunately, I play a little too rough for my foster siblings who are both senior GSPs, but I think I would enjoy another dog who could match my play intensity.   I have yet to encounter a cat, but based on the way I LOVE to chase squirrels not so sure a cat would love me.  My very favorite thing to do is hunt lizards in the backyard.  I would do this all day if I could.
I may still be a puppy but I'm also pretty strong.  I don’t show a lot of interest in kids.  I would do best in a family with older kids or no kids because when I get excited, I can become a little wild.  I walk well on a leash and don’t dig or try to escape fences.

My ideal forever family will have a lot of patience and time to teach me new things and help me trust that they’re always going to come home so I don’t need to get so upset when they leave.   I would love an active family with a fenced-in yard and plenty of time to take me on walks and play with me. I am up to date on vaccines, neutered and microchipped.

My adoption fee is $375.00.  Please email floridawyatt@gmail.com and or fill out an adoption application if you are interested.
