Peggy is ready to find her forever home!
Hello there, my name is Pretty Peggy and I was found by a Good Samaritan and entered our rescue back in January. Everyone says I'm about 8 years young, but I feel a lot younger now that I'm in rescue. I was found as a stray, and I've had several litters of puppies. I'm very healthy, I'm spayed and oh so ready to find my forever home.
I've been getting pampered by my foster mom with princess beds and pedicures in Tallahassee, FL while acclimating to life in North Florida and having my temperament assessed. My foster mom is a little biased, but she says I have the best temperament ever.
I absolutely adore people and children! I would be fine as an only dog, as long as I get showered with love and attention from my people. I just know I would make a really great family dog!
I also enjoy other dogs, especially dogs that are smaller than I am (they're so cute). I am okay with larger dogs who respect my space but I'm no longer a puppy so I don't like pushy hyper dogs in my face that want to play all the time. More mellow dogs are more my style...someone to just hang with me and keep me company. I really like to hang out on my princess bed, hunt squirrels and lizards (and rats – oh yeah barn hunting is so fun), and I'm the happiest when I'm near my human.
I'm super smart and am house trained, 100% beautifully crate trained, leash trained, and I know basic commands. I don't even bark when people knock on the door or the doorbell rings. I'm truly the perfect, sweetest dog...really. I also understand how pretty I am and if you have a camera then I'm ready to sit for pictures!
I'm sure I'll have many applications and people interested in me (I am "pretty" Peggy you know), and my foster mom will screen them closely to ensure I go to the home that best suits my needs. If you're interested in learning more about me, please complete an adoption application (if you haven't already) then email my foster mom at firstname.lastname@example.org and let her know why you would be the perfect forever home for me.
P.S. The rescue vets all of their dogs (and there are a LOT of them in the wings) so my adoption fee of $375 helped cover not only what they spent on me for my spay and vaccines, but the few extra dollars will be spent on another dog with even more vet expense than I had.
**Update: Peggy met some cats recently. The cats were happy there was glass! Peggy the huntress has decided that for the safety of cats everywhere, her ideal home will not have any cats or small prey.**
