Hi there, my official name is Roma but my foster Mom calls me Rhoda. I’m about 1 year old and I’m looking for a family to spend the rest of my life with.
I’m an energetic gal. Smart and sassy I say. I’m crate-trained but my foster parents let me sleep outside the crate now since I’m so good. But they think in a new environment I should be crated until I feel comfortable. I use a doggie door (easy peasy to learn) so I’m house-trained…but if you don’t have a doggie door then you should watch me closely until I figure out how to let you know I need to go outside.
I’m learning lots of new things like “sit, down, off and no” commands (easy peasy) and I’m still working on leash walking (not so easy for a 1 year old GSP). I would like a family that will continue teaching me new things since I’m so smart (and humble). I’m still a young GSP so if you don’t pay attention to me and I’m bored I may eat a shoe. My Foster Mom didn’t like that too much so she tries to keep me busy now. To make up for that little flaw I do like baths and nail clippings (I like to be pretty and pampered).
I play well with others, love my toys, love to snuggle with other dogs and everybody is my best friend!!! I do love other dogs. A lot. I came into rescue with my sister Reba so I’m used to having another dog around. In fact I like to sleep with my two foster canine siblings on my bed. They are great cuddlers. I’ve been told I should not live with a cat. “No cats” they say! I think I know why…oops. But it was fun LOL!
I would like a home that appreciates my desire to please humans and wants to be with me as much as I want to be with them. I’d also like a canine sibling to play with and snuggle with when our humans are away (hopefully not gone for long though – I hate being apart from my humans). I am very submissive with other dogs and would never be aggressive with anyone…it’s just not in my nature. I like small humans too but I’ve been told taller humans are better (4+) since I get a bit exhuberant and may accidentally knock small ones down.
I’m young so I would like a fenced yard to run and run and play and play in. I do calm down when in the house ‘cause I know that when I’m inside it’s quiet time and I can catch up on my napping. I do like to follow my humans to see what they’re doing and if I can help. But once I determine it’s nothing exciting I’ll lay down and sleep.
So to sum it up, I’m a really nice, small-ish girl (46 lbs) looking for someone to take me on long walks, cuddle and love me for the rest of my life. If you think you’re the one please complete an adoption application (if you haven’t already) and email my foster parents Claudine and Jim.
And I’m spayed, fully vetted, temperament tested and know basic commands so my adoption fee is $375.
