Hi there I’m Scout. I’m in Ocala, Florida right now but hey, I don’t mind moving if my forever family lives somewhere else. But I gotta tell ya, I MUST meet any future canine siblings before I’m adopted. See, I’m kinda picky about who I hang with…so you’d have to be willing to meet me first. If you’re too far away and can’t drive half-way to meet me then that’s probably a deal-breaker. So, now that we’ve narrowed my followers down a bit, let’s get some basics out of the way.
I’m almost 6 years old, handsome, modest, house-trained, crate-trained, I have a great demeanor, I’m great with kids, don’t have food anxiety, I’ll share toys and yup, I’m a great cuddler. My special talent is holding onto a ball. I mean holding onto it forever…like until the day I die. I’ll retrieve other toys, but once I have my ball it’s mine forever and I’m not bringing it back. I’m not much of a talker, love wandering the yard and of course I have excellent snuggling skills. Sounds really great, right? Well, no dog is perfect. Close, but not perfect.
I have hypothyroidism so I’m on meds to keep that normal. Not a biggy since I’m super cool about taking them - you’ll just need to remember to give me a pill every day (SEGSP says you can get the pills for 15 cents each at Costco if you buy a large quantity). But other than that I’m super healthy and happy. I love all humans, but I’m searching for the right family that either doesn’t have other dogs or has a dog that I can meet first so I know we’re cool with each other.
I’d love a home that has a great supply of tennis balls, time to play with me and cuddle in the evenings so I know how loved I am. A fenced yard is pretty important since I love wandering and I need boundaries so I don’t accidentally wander and get lost.
If you think I’m the perfect dog for you, please complete an adoption application (if you haven’t already) and email my foster Mom Samantha.
Don’t forget, good things aren’t cheap…my adoption fee is $375. That includes this handsome face, all of my vetting I’ve had in rescue, my temperament evaluation and of course all the training I’ve had to be a good dog.
