Hey it’s me Winnie aka Winnie Girl... While I have loved being here with my foster family, I am now ready to find my forever home. I’m about 2 years old, but since they never found my original owner I can’t verify that’s 100% accurate, but it’s close anyway. I was about to be euthanized in a rural shelter in FL when SEGSP saved me. They think I have maybe some cattle-dog in me since I herd everyone and my coat is super super thick.
I am extremely cuddly, I love to snuggle, and most of all love to get my belly scratched! Oooh did I mention smiling is one of my favorite things to do?! The tiny humans are my absolute favorite people in the world but I will take belly scratches and ear rubs from anyone! I also love to sit outside on the back porch while my Foster Mom and Dad drink their coffee in the morning... yuck who likes that stuff. I’m very laid-back which they say is odd considering how young I am, but I say I’m just “special.” I also like to play with my foster brother but sometimes I get a little tired from all his energy and just want to take a nap!
My Foster Mom says I am a good eater and prefer to eat in my own area... although sometimes if I can manage it, I’ll sneak a little extra my foster brother leaves behind! I have learned to sit when I’m asked to, and am working on walking better on a leash... have I mentioned that yet? If I haven’t, I love to go on walks and I get a little sad when the tiny humans go out to play and I don’t get to go. So I patiently wait by the door till they come back in and I can smother them with kisses!
Overall, I like long walks in the neighborhood, belly scratches, ear rubs, treats, smiling all the time, and snuggling with you as much as possible! I would really prefer a home with small humans that really want to be my friend and not ignore me, a fenced yard for me to wander (when the small humans aren’t playing with me) and a family that will love me, cuddle, me and consider me part of their family…forever.
P.S. I am spayed, complete vetted, know basic commands, am house-trained, am working on crate-training (that one’s hard cause I can’t cuddle with you while in there) and have been temperament tested, so my adoption fee is only $375 (much less than what you’d pay to do that yourself and anything extra goes to vet other dogs in rescue which is super cool).
