Cagney and Lacey were picked up as strays and came into rescue together. They are very bonded so we would like for them to stay together if possible.
They both love to run on their "walks" but have greatly improved and it’s easy enough now for their foster kids to walk them around the neighborhood. They loooove their foster kids and all their friends so a home with children will be a bonus. Cagney and Lacy love other dogs too. They learned how to sneak over the chain link fence to visit with the neighbor’s dogs so a secure, sturdy fence higher than 4 feet would be ideal. Both do well with their foster family’s kitty but she is good at defending herself and a kitty that runs will most likely be chased by these two. These girls really like spending time together and playing chase…they love each other and share any and everything! (except attention cause that's their fave). They are still learning not to jump on people but it’s hard because they are always so excited to be around new people. They love to nap on the couch and are crated at night right now but if you wanted to share your bed with them, they are always ready to snuggle!!
From the girls:
Lacey (approx. 1 year old, less ticked pup) - I would do anything for a treat or a head rub so keep em coming!! I'm still a puppy but I’m learning to do my business outside. I won't go to the door every time, but I will whine to get your attention. I like to dig holes (what GSP doesn’t) so keep an eye on me if you value your yard. I also like to chew on anything I can get in my mouth (it’s a puppy thing that I know I’ll outgrow) but my foster mom keeps me stacked with “legal” chew toys to keep me out of trouble. I'm very smart and super duper ready to learn all kinds of new tricks - I'm working on "sit" right now!
Cagney (approx. 2-3 years old, more ticked) - I'm pretty sure I'm small enough to be a lap dog…if you sit, I'm sitting on you. Lacey wears me out with all that playtime, so you can usually catch me taking a snooze inside on the couch. When my prey drive kicks in, it's hard to get my attention but when you do, I'm ready to come when you call! Lacey is quick to push me out of the way for some attention so please make sure you remember I like head scratches too!
These two bonded girls would love to stay together so we’re hopeful there’s someone out there who would like to adopt them both.
They are both spayed, healthy and heartworm negative so their adoption fee is $375 each.
If you are interested in adopting Cagney and Lacey, please fill out an adoption application if you haven’t already, and email their foster Mom, Jocelyn at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
