Meet Dobby (GA, 1 year old) – a little gem with a huge heart and an easygoing soul.
Dobby’s story started as a stray who found his way to a kind family with children. They did everything they could to reunite him with an owner, and while he waited, Dobby showed exactly what kind of dog he is: gentle with kids, friendly with other dogs, respectful of the family cat, and happiest when he could run the property but still stay close to home. That “stay near my people” instinct has followed him right into rescue.
He entered rescue on 11/20/25 and is fully vetted, heartworm negative, and neutered.
In foster care, Dobby is thriving with routine and basic training. Inside, he is a total snuggle bug who loves affection, but he’s also perfectly content entertaining himself with chew toys and food puzzles. He doesn’t need constant attention and settles beautifully. Outside, he shows his playful side with happy zoomies and puppy energy.
Here’s what his foster mom loves most:
  • Amazing on leash
  • Allows nail trims with a Dremel like a champ
  • Knows his name and is improving quickly with recall
  • Appears housebroken (one crate accident that was human error)
  • Comfortable in a crate
  • Has not challenged a 4’ chain link fence (though supervision is still recommended)
Dobby is described as:
  • Goofy
  • Sweet
  • Playful
  • Easy to live with
  • Quick to adjust
And as GSPs go, he’s a smaller guy at just 40 pounds, making him a perfect “pocket pointer” for someone who loves the breed but prefers a more compact companion.
Dobby is the kind of dog who fits right into daily life. He’s affectionate without being overwhelming, playful without being wild, and adaptable without being timid. He will make a wonderful addition to a family, a couple, or an active individual looking for a loyal, loving companion.
If you’re looking for a dog who is as easy to love as he is to live with, Dobby might be your match.
Dobby's adoption fee is $375
