Hi! My name is Duke and I’m a handsome 8 years young GSP. I’m currently being fostered in MS. I was surrendered by my owner because my family moved and couldn’t take me with them (yeah, I know…). I weigh about 55lbs and I am the sweetest boy. I am eager to please and I even know basic commands like sit and down. I am exceptionally well at come - my foster mom says I have one of the best recalls she’s ever seen with a dog- yay me (See… I’m smart so I would really like to learn more)!

I am a typical Velcro GSP- I follow my foster mom around and crave affection. I get along pretty well with my 2 female sibling GSP’s. I have challenged my alpha sibling a couple times with a few growls but nothing too serious. I even get along with my feline sibling- I like to look at him and I am curious when he comes around but I don’t chase or have any aggression towards him.

I am crate trained and sleep all night in it without a peep. I also stay in the crate during the day a couple days a week when my mom is working and I do fine. I am almost 100% Housetrained. I still have occasional accidents but it’s probably because my foster mom isn’t picking up on my cues! LOL

I would say I am mid-energy for a GSP. I do love to run around and play with my siblings. And I love to go for long walks with my canine siblings and foster parents. I am still pretty spunky but I settle down nicely inside when I’m done exercising. I also like to chase a tennis ball if someone will throw it for me!

What do I want in my forever home? Well, someone who will give me lots of love (lots of cuddling) and take care of me (i.e. feed me and give me treats LOL). I love to snuggle, place my head on your lap, and want to be with you most places you go, including the bathroom! I think (so does my foster mom) that I’m the perfect package deal… I still have plenty of energy but don’t have any destructive puppy behaviors. I am smart, handsome, and I’ll be a loyal companion (I promise).

If you think you could be my furever home, please contact my foster mom Stephanie at [email protected] and fill out an adoption application on the SEGSP (if you haven’t already). I can’t wait to become part of your family and give you lots of love and devotion!

Oh, and I almost forgot, because I’m 8 years old and not a puppy, the rescue is offering a special deal for my adoption fee ($187.50).  I personally think I’m worth millions but…
