A high energy puppy, approximately 8 months old looking for his forever home.
Brady loves to run and play all day long only pausing to flop down on a soft dog bed to recharge his battery for his next big adventure. Brady is very smart, eager to learn and picks up new skills quickly. In his short time with his foster home, he has already learned “sit, stay, down, paw, in the house, inside, go potty, leave it and kennel up.” An area that his foster home is still working on is his leash walking but hopefully Brady will have it mastered soon.
Brady is already crate trained, house broken, up-to-date on vaccinations, neutered and currently weighing in at about 46lbs but still growing! Brady will no doubt be a big boy, estimated to weigh 60lbs or more once he’s fully grown. He’s currently being fostered in a home with 7 acres of fenced space for his foster canine siblings and horses to run and play. Brady has enjoyed adventuring around the property and living with his 4 doggy friends (two female GSP foster siblings, Kimmie and Amelia and two males, Java and Doc). According to his foster family, Java has enjoyed having a fun playmate and Amelia likes running with him in a game of chase outside and also considers herself a referee in Java/Brady indoor games.
For his future home, Brady will need a large fenced yard to run in and would be very happy to have a playful friend or two. Ideally, having someone who works from home or is home most of the day would be great for him. If not, training with a dog door would be a big plus as he is such a busy boy and active, he doesn’t always realize he needs to go potty until he is desperate. Brady would be a wonderful fit for someone who loves to run or bike as that would burn off some of his puppy energy. Since he is so smart and learns quickly, he may also be a candidate for obedience or agility training.
Brady was surrendered to Rescue for being gun-shy, so we do not recommend a home that plans on having a hunting partner. Sweet Brady is a cuddle bug who loves to fall asleep in your lap, get belly rubs and have lots of toys, especially those that crackle and some treat balls to work his brain. Mental stimulation toys are a must for him as well to keep his mind active. Since he’s so active, he is not recommended for families with small children (he doesn’t realize how big he is and can easily knock them over). He has not been cat tested.
If you’re interested in adopting Brady, please complete an adoption application (if you haven’t already) and reach out to his foster Mom Kathy.
*Note: Brady is a puppy GSP that has been neutered, vaccinated and temperament tested. His adoption fee is $475.*
