I’m Coco and I’m 2 years old and being fostered in North Carolina right how – but I’m happy to move within the southeast region for the right family.
I came into Rescue after my original owner said I couldn’t hunt and was too dominant. I do hunt though; hunting squirrels is one of my all time favorite activities. And I’ve worked really hard on my dominant personality. While in Rescue, I’ve spent several weeks with my trainer (he’s also my foster dad) to help me improve my socialization and learned more doggy manners. Not to brag, but I’ve improved so much from the time I was brought in. With that being said, I would still very much prefer a forever home where I am the king of the castle.
I’m a typical young, male GSP, so I understandably will need lots of exercise and attention to stay being the very best boy I can be. A large, fenced yard would be ideal so I can run and search for squirrels then RUN some more. The fence is handy since I’m still very much a puppy, and you’ll need to work on my recall and leash skills still.
I also crave attention from all my humans and will become your best friend quickly. I am a typical Velcro dog so a family that is home a good bit of the time to give me the attention I need (and deserve) would be very much appreciated. If you have small humans, I’m very gentle around them, small or medium or large, I love all humans especially if they’ll play with me and make me the center of attention. My foster dad recommends bigger humans so I don’t accidentally knock the tiny ones down with my exuberance, but it all depends on how well supervised we are – I do “try” to be very gentle.
Not to sound too conceited but I am very smart and learn quickly so my forever home will need to keep me interested and challenged to help me avoid getting into trouble. My leash manners still need some practice since I just get so excited with ALL THE THINGS.
In summary, I would love a family that wants to be my best buddy and spend lots of time with me. I’d really love a family that can take me along on your adventures – I’m a great car rider! I have no fear of new situations and I just really love to go wherever my humans are! I would like an adopter that appreciates my yard protection qualities to keep those pesky, annoying squirrels at bay. My favorite thing to do is run and play and then come inside to cuddle with my humans. Bottom line I just love doing whatever my humans are doing.
If it sounds like I’m a match for you, please complete an adoption application (if you haven’t already) and email the NC/SC Coordinator Kristin.
Almost forgot, my adoption fee is $375 since I’m fully vetted, microchipped, neutered crate-trained, house-trained and temperament tested and just an all-around awesome dude.
