Hi Everyone, Colby here! I’m a four-year-old boy currently hanging out in Hickory, NC. I have had a bit of a rocky road thus far in life, but I’m looking forward to a new start with the right family! I spent a lot of time outside before coming to rescue and had fleas and worms…GROSS! But those are gone now and I’ve been working really hard on nice doggie manners. I am the world’s best snuggler, but I’ve had some problems with barking and being reactive to dogs when I’m on a leash and to small humans. Rescue sent me to school to learn how to be a more civilized boy. I’ve now had five weeks of training customized to me and I’m looking for a family that will continue my training so I can be the best boy ever.
Because rescue has spent lots of time and money on my education, there are some very specific requirements for my adoptive family. Everyone in the family (humans and pets) must travel to Hickory to meet me and learn all about the things I’ve been learning over the past few weeks. My training comes with a lifetime guarantee and an e-collar, but you must be willing to learn too! My new family must be committed to playing by the rules I’ve been learning lately.
My ideal home will be willing to provide me tons of exercise. I love to run and I do much better with my manners when I’ve been properly exercised. After that, I want to snuggle up and be your best cuddler. I have worked hard on not barking for attention, but I will probably always be a somewhat vocal dog. I am not suited for a home with small animals or children under six.
I am fully vetted and microchipped and have had 5 weeks of formal training, so I think my $375 adoption fee is a steal! If you are looking for an eager to learn boy that gives the best doggie hugs and are willing to learn my rules, please fill out an application first and then contact my adoption coordinator, Sarah (firstname.lastname@example.org).
