SEGSP Rescue Dogs Ready for Adoption
|
Ollie (formerly Happy) is a sweet two-year-old boy who came into rescue two months ago as an owner surrender after he was hit by a car and suffered a broken pelvis. He has done amazing! He has not let this slow him down at all and is so happy to be off crate rest! His weight is up to 45 pounds now, and the vet says that is perfect for him. His scars have healed nicely and the only clue that he had an injury is that when he runs, he runs a bit sideways. His foster mom has him on a daily joint supplement.
Ollie spends weekends at the lake with his foster family, and although he hasn’t jumped off the dock, he walks right down the steps and into the lake. He loves the water and has no problem getting into the shower. He travels beautifully in the car and will hop right up and into his travel crate. He loves balls of all kind, and will play fetch for hours! He has the kindest demeanor and is loyal and affectionate. Ollie is the definition of a “Velcro dog.” He has bonded with his foster parents and wants to be wherever they are. His favorite activity is receiving endless pets. He will let you know that he has noticed when you stop petting him by jumping up and down like a bunny and gently putting his mouth on your hand. He likes men and women, but his favorite person is his foster parents15 year old son. Ollie is housebroken, crate trained, and will often crawl into his crate when he is tired. He sees it as a place of comfort. He has a moderate energy level—happy to be active but also content to settle in and relax. He plays well with all dogs that he has been in contact with. His personality is submissive, and he will back down when challenged by his foster families GSP’s, as well as the Frenchie’s that visit. His ideal home would be one that offers structure, consistency, and a fenced yard where he can safely enjoy the outdoors. Ollie is healthy, neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and on heartworm prevention. He is ready to give his whole heart to a family who will give him the same in return. His adoption fee is $375.
