Olaf - NC

Hello everyone, my name is Olaf and I’m 9 years young. My foster mom says I’m what would result if Disney’s Pluto had a baby with Lassie! I’m a goofball she says and laughing at me seems to bring her more joy than I thought was possible. I run like a colt discovering how to trot for the first time and I hop when I get super excited to see someone. I’ve learned not to jump on people, so I just hop up and down and until they pet me. She says I’m like Lassie because I’m very loyal and she never had to put a leash on me. I will never let my human get too far from me and I’m always checking in to make sure they are safe. When she takes me hiking and people approach, I always stand in front of her and give my “I mean business” look. I absolutely love water and could stay in it all day long. Laying on the boat under a shade is the best. I love car rides and just going places with humans, I was born for this life and meant to be a human’s best friend. I love farm life and riding on tractors, I do not harass farm animals like most GSP’s would but have known to heard a stray cow back into the pasture very quietly but my foster mom doesn’t get back about this she just says I’m doing a good job. If they are behind a fence, I do not bother them.  

I’m not very active like most GSP’s I like to play with toys by myself and just chew on bones and perfectly happy sitting at my humans’ feet being a very good boy. I’m kennel trained and will whine if I see you but if you leave, I just lay down and go to sleep, my foster mom has even talked to me on the camera because she was worried, but I was just dreaming of my new life with my new family.

I’ve been working on being left out of the kennel some and have done great for short periods of time but have learned to open the pantry door and for some reason humans don’t like it when you carry snacks around for the other dogs to eat. I never eat the things I carry but her other dogs do, if you ask me she needs to train them better. I know what you are thinking, I sound like the perfect one of a kind GSP and I often here my foster mom say to my foster siblings that if they keep it up she is keeping me and they are going up for adoption but I do have one small issue. Small being the key word, I am not very understanding of puppies or small dogs that bark all the time or try to get in my face and play. It is best I remain the only dog in the home and no kids under the age of six please.
