SEGSP Rescue Dogs Ready for Adoption

Meet Pepper!
Location: Monroe, North Carolina Age: 2–3 years old Weight: Approximately 55 pounds Some dogs greet the world with wagging tails and zero personal boundaries. Pepper isn’t one of them—and that’s exactly what makes earning her trust so special. Pepper is a sweet, intelligent girl who simply likes to take her time getting to know new people and new places. She’ll let you know when she’s ready for affection, and once she does, you’ll discover a dog overflowing with love. She becomes a champion snuggler, loves giving kisses, and wants nothing more than to be close to her people. She’s much the same with other dogs. Pepper may be a little shy and reserved at first, but give her a little time and she blossoms into the social butterfly of the group. Before long, she’s playing, wrestling, and making new best friends. She has done wonderfully with dogs of all sizes. Pepper absolutely LOVES car rides and would happily volunteer as your full-time co-pilot. She also loves toys, peanut butter, and just about any treat you have to offer, making training both easy and fun. She already knows her basic commands, has excellent recall once she’s bonded with her person, and is eager to learn. We’re continuing to work on her leash manners, and while she can pull a bit, she’s incredibly smart and catches on quickly. She is fully house-trained and kennel-trained. At night, she’ll happily sleep in her kennel, but she’s equally content relaxing loose in the house if that’s your preference. She settles in beautifully and has wonderful house manners. One of Pepper’s funniest little quirks is that she’s a professional hide-and-seek champion. Don’t be surprised to find her happily snoozing beneath a bench, table, or tucked away in another cozy little nook she’s claimed as her own. Pepper is up to date on all vaccinations, spayed, microchipped, and kept current on heartworm, flea, and tick prevention. Because she’s a sensitive girl, Pepper can be startled by unfamiliar loud noises and isn’t comfortable with sudden hand movements. She is also not a good fit for a home with teenage boys. What she needs most is someone willing to give her a few days to decompress and build trust at her own pace. Once Pepper knows she’s safe, the walls come down, her goofy personality shines, and she becomes one of the most affectionate, loyal companions you could ever hope to have. Pepper isn’t looking for someone to change who she is. She’s looking for someone who understands that the very best relationships are built on patience, kindness, and trust. If you’re willing to give Pepper a little time, she’ll spend the rest of her life proving she was worth the wait. Pepper is UTD on vaccines, spayed and microchipped so her adoption fee is $375 If you're interested in Pepper, please fill out an adoption application and email Vicki at [email protected] Comments are closed.
